Abstract: A process for preparing a zinc dialkyldithiophosphate which comprises reacting phosphorus pentasulfide with an aliphatic monohydric alcohol in the presence of a hydrocarbyl polyol followed by a reaction with a basic zinc salt to produce a stabilized zinc dialkyldithiophosphate is provided.

Abstract: A lubricating oil additive is prepared by reacting a triglyceride with a basic nitrogen compound to form a reaction product, reacting said reaction product with an acidic molybdenum compound to form an intermediate reaction product, and reacting said intermediate reaction product with a sulfur compound to produce a lubricating oil additive.

Abstract: Described are novel enaminones of the formula: ##STR1## wherein R is a lower alkyl or oxyalkyl group having 1 to 5 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is an alkyl group having from 1 to 200 carbon atoms or a similar alkyl group substituted by nitrogen, oxygen or other inert substituents; R.sub.2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms; R.sub.3 is an alkyl or substituted alkyl group having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms. These products are prepared by the reaction of a 1,3-dicarbonyl compound and a primary or secondary amine analog.In neat or mixed form, the present compounds are useful as dispersants-detergents in oleaginous compositions.

Abstract: A detergent additive represented by the formula:R--[O--CH.sub.2 --CH(CH.sub.3)].sub.y --NH--(CH.sub.2).sub.3 --NH.sub.2in which R is a hydrocarbyl radical having from 8 to 18 carbon atoms and y is about 2 to 6, and a gasoline motor fuel composition containing same.

Abstract: A detergent motor fuel composition is provided comprising a primary aliphatic hydrocarbon amino alkylene-substituted asparagine represented by the formula: ##STR1## in which R is a primary aliphatic hydrocarbon radical and R' is hydrogen or a methyl radical, and an N-primary alkyl-alkylene diamine represented by the formula:R,R'--N--C.sub.3 H.sub.6 --NH.sub.2in which R is a primary aliphatic hydrocarbon radical and R' is hydrogen or a methyl radical.

Abstract: As a fuel additive, the reaction product of a polymer having an amine group and an .alpha.-.beta.-unsaturated C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 aliphatic carboxylic acid. Also disclosed herein is a fuel component, especially gasoline, containing such a reaction product as a detergent.

Abstract: A quaternary ammonium salt of a copolymer, said copolymer being the olefin polymerization product of:(A) a nitrogen amine free ester of a C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 olefinically unsaturated aliphatic mono-, di-, or polycarboxylic acid having a tertiary nitrogen atom; and(B) an olefinically unsaturated comonomer containing a basic nitrogen atom in a side chain;a fuel component, especially gasoline, containing such quaternary ammonium salt of such copolymer as a detergent.

Abstract: Detergent additive represented by the formula: ##STR1## IN WHICH R is a hydrocarbyl radical having a molecular weight ranging from about 200 to 1500, R' is hydrogen or an alkyl radical having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, X is a divalent hydrocarbon radical having from 2 to 6 carbon atoms, Y is NH or O, a has a value from 0 to 1, b has a value from 1 to 2 with the sum of a and b not exceeding 2, and z has a value from 1 to 10, and a mineral composition containing the detergent additive.
