    Abstract: An audio system for use with an electromechanical apparatus having a device coupled to the audio system, the device having a mechanical resonance stimulated by spectral components of vibrations radiated by the audio system, which includes an input for receiving audio signals and a gain reducer. The gain reducer includes a detector detecting in the audio signal the presence of the spectral components that excite the mechanical resonance and also includes a gain cell reducing the gain of said audio signals, either broadband or narrowband, responsive to the detector.
