  • Patent number: 4598449
Abstract: An annular beam 46 which is hollow and which extends circumferentially about an annular flow path 22, 24 for working medium gases is disclosed. The annular beam supports and positions both a shroud 42 and a fabric 44 for containing particles having axial and radial velocity. The annular beam has a first wall 48 and a second wall 50. The second wall is spaced radially from the first wall. A plurality of annular plates 52 extending circumferentially about the interior of the beam. The plates are attached to the first wall and to the second wall. In one detailed embodiment the annular plates have a C-shaped cross section formed of a circumferentially extending rib 58 and two axially oriented legs 60, 62. The radial height of the rib is many times greater than the radial height of the legs. A method of fabricating the annular beam is disclosed.

  • Patent number: 4569578
Abstract: There is disclosed a photographic apparatus of the instant developing type which permits exposing, processing and viewing of the film without the necessity of removing the film from the camera. Included is a film disk containing a plurality of film assemblies, each including a strippable negative sheet which is removed from the film assembly at a viewing station for facilitating viewing of the positive image transparency at such viewing station.

Inventors: Joseph A. Stella, Joseph B. Wright
  • Patent number: 4561742
Abstract: A pocket-size still camera of the self-developing type includes a film chamber with a rotatable platform supporting a self-developing film unit for rotation. A stepping motor is provided for rotating the platform and film unit in incremental steps to permit successive sections of the film unit to be exposed. An exit slot is provided in the film chamber to allow discharge of the exposed film unit through a pair of processing rollers. An embibing chamber is located adjacent the exit slot so as to receive the film unit for the appropriate embibition time.

  • Patent number: 4452565
Abstract: A circumferentially extending structure 30 for containing particles having an axial component and a radial component of velocity is disclosed. The apparatus is comprised of a hollow annular beam 48 and a fabric 46 wrapped under tension about the annular beam such that the installed length of the fabric is greater than the free length of the fabric. In one particular embodiment the fabric is coated with a layer 116 of epoxy resin such that the resin penetrates only the top layer of the fabric to form a shield. The shield layer protects the containment fabric from injury.

  • Patent number: 4390039
Abstract: A device for enabling the assembly and disassembly of a top entry ball valve takes the form of a pin formed from rod-like material with a conical end. When the pins are inserted into the top surface of the valve housing the spring loaded valve seats are forced backwardly by the advance of the sloped face of the pins. In a second embodiment, the ends of the pins are teardrop shaped. After the pins are inserted, they are rotated 90.degree. causing the seat to be pushed back by the larger diameter of the pin.

  • Patent number: 4236691
Abstract: Disclosed is a ball valve with seats having means to relieve harmful build-up of cavity pressure. The heel of the valve seat has grooves therein allowing cavity pressure to be applied over a portion of the seat surface in a fashion that produces a resultant force in a lip region of the seat. This resultant force causes the lip region of the seat temporarily to move away from the ball and thus vent the cavity pressure to a lower pressure zone.
