  • Publication number: 20050248543
Abstract: A theft resistant touch sensor system is provided that can be easily integrated into a touch monitor and configured to be used with a wide variety of host computers. The theft resistant touch sensor system involves a handshake procedure conducted between a controller and a host computer. The controller acts to disable a display for the touch sensor system if the handshake is not successful. The system can be updated remotely via network connections, but does not require continuous intervention by a network connection. The system includes a touch sensor capable of detecting a presence and location of a touch on a touch sensitive surface and a display located proximate the touch sensor, the display providing information correlated to a touch location. The touch sensor system also provides a controller capable of transmitting and receiving information from the sensor that includes a first data input/output port. The controller can communicate with a computer through the first data port.

  • Patent number: 4295159
Abstract: Apparatus and method are disclosed directed to a real time, electro-optical light projection system, wherein at least one selected target is displayed on a high resolution mini-raster, differentiated from a coarse resolution base raster background. A full color display of the target on a full color background is provided with three cathode ray tubes in association with corresponding liquid crystal light valves. Alternatively, a single cathode ray tube and an associated liquid crystal light valve are used to display the target monochromatically against a monochromatic background.

  • Patent number: 4199875
Abstract: A controlled video mixer is employed in a special effects generator of a flight simulator visual display system to produce realistic reduced visibility scenes. The video mixer produces a composite video signal from a camera video signal and a cloud function signal. The video mixer includes a gated variable transconductance device which has a differential input and operates in a range where its gain is an exponential function of its gate voltage. A control signal which is directly proportional to slant range and inversely proportional to visibility range is provided to the gate of the variable transconductance device. The output of this device is summed with the cloud function signal to produce a composite video signal which, when displayed on a TV receiver, accurately depicts atmospheric visibility effects.
