Each of the shafts has a beveled annular ring that makes stops the extension of the shafts from the stored position to the fully extended stored position. In the fully extended position, the successive sections form interlocking or interleaved joints.

Abstract: A process of preparing a Group IV, V, or VI metal carbonitride including reacting a Group IV, V, or VI metal amide complex with ammonia to obtain an intermediate product; and, heating the intermediate product to temperatures and for times sufficient to form a Group IV, V, or VI metal carbonitride is provided together with the product of the process and a process of reforming an n-alkane by use of the product.

Abstract: An improved FET for use as a voltage-controlled resistor includes a p-type control gate and a high-resistance connection to receive a control signal. The bootstrap frequency for the device is much lower than the signal frequency so that the signal frequency is decoupled from the control voltage to reduce distortion.
