  • Publication number: 20170262846
Abstract: Systems and methods implementing a communication protocol for the authorization of transfer of resources in a computer system having a plurality of computers, including a centralized router connecting to source account controllers and destination account controllers that are connected to readers. A reader communicates a first authorization request having a source identifier to a portal coupled with a data storage storing data linking the source identifier to a linked identifier. The portal communicates with a respective linked account controller to obtain a response identifying an available resource. Based on the response, the reader generates a further authorization request for a requested resource from a source account identified by the source identifier to a destination account associated with the reader.

  • Publication number: 20160148175
Abstract: A computing apparatus having: a processing system connected in a first network of computers having a predetermined communication protocol for communication among at least the processing systems, terminals, and resource controllers in the first network; a portal connected to a second network and providing an application programming interface for communication with the terminals independent from the predetermined communication protocol; and a data store coupled with the processing system and the portal. The portal receives, via the application programming interface, context data via the second network; and the processing system receives, transaction data transmitted in the first network according to the predetermined communication protocol. Via the data store, the computing apparatus correlates the context data with the transaction data to process an add-on task, in addition to the tasks associated with the transaction data in the first network.

  • Publication number: 20150019435
Abstract: A system includes a transaction terminal that is configured to examine an authorization response for an indicator, which, when set, causes the transaction terminal to communicate with a portal to obtain content relevant to the receipt for the transaction approved by the authorization response. The content may identify the benefit of an offer applied to the transaction, which is not reflected in the authorization response. The content may direct the user to select an option regarding the delivery of the receipt. Options presented for selection include suppression of the printing of the paper receipt in favor of an electronic receipt transmitted to a communication reference of the user, printing a mini paper receipt in addition to transmitting an electronic receipt, and/or printing the full paper receipt at the transaction terminal.

  • Publication number: 20140222533
Abstract: An individualized price offer is associated with the account information of a user in a data warehouse coupled with a transaction handler of a payment processing network. If the individualized price offer is applicable for a pre-authorization of a purchase, information about the price offer is communicated to a transaction terminal via an authorization response for the pre-authorization. The transaction terminal is configured to adjust the published price in accordance with the information about the price offer such that the user is presented with an individualized price at the transaction terminal before the user starts receiving the product or service. After the purchase, the transaction terminal computes the transaction amount according to the individualized price and request clearing and settlement of the transaction according to the transaction amount computed according to the individualized price.

  • Publication number: 20130282461
Abstract: A system includes a transaction handler, a data warehouse storing data associating offers and consumer accounts, a transaction handler coupled with the data warehouse, and a transaction terminal configured to submit authorization requests to the transaction handler via an acquirer processor. After receiving account information identifying a consumer account for a payment transaction, the transaction terminal generates a first authorization request identifying the consumer account. The transaction handler identifies offer information relevant to the payment transaction and provides an authorization response containing the offer information, prior to communication with an issuer processor for the payment transaction. In response to the offer information provided in the authorization response, the transaction terminal modifies the first authorization request to generate a second authorization request, in response to which the transaction handler communicates with the issuer processor for the payment transaction.
