  • Publication number: 20240088940
Abstract: A node of a radio frequency system can include a signal splitter, a power rectifier and conditioner, a communication filter, and a network processor. The signal splitter is configured to split a radio frequency transmission between a power path and a communications path within the node. The power rectifier and conditioner are configured to produce a conditioned power signal based on power received through the power path. The communication filter of the communications path is configured to produce a filtered communication signal. The network processor is powered by the conditioned power signal and configured to extract encoded information from the filtered communication signal.

  • Publication number: 20170281471
Abstract: A drug dispensing assembly for dispensing solid drug delivery vessels from a bottle includes a first layer having a vessel exit passage. A second layer is operatively connected to the first layer, and includes a vessel entry passage horizontally offset from the exit passage. A vessel dispensing layer is positioned between the first and second layers, is movable with respect to the first and second layers, and includes a holding chamber sized to receive the vessel. The holding chamber is movable from a first loading position in which the holding chamber is aligned with the entry passage and is horizontally offset from the exit passage to receive the vessel, to a second dispensing position in which the holding chamber is aligned with the exit passage and is horizontally offset from the entry passage to dispense the vessel through the exit passage. The holding chamber may be configured with a fulcrum and a ramp.

  • Patent number: 9305549
Abstract: A method and apparatus to identify names, personalities, titles, and topics that are present in a repository and to identify names, personalities, titles, and topics that are not present in the repository, uses information from external data sources, notably the text used in non-speech, text-based searches, to expand the search terms. The expansion takes place in two forms: (1) finding plausible linguistic variants of existing search terms that are already comprehended in the repository, but that are present under slightly different names; and (2) expanding the existing search term list with items that should be there by virtue of their currency in popular culture, but which for whatever reason have not yet been reflected with content items in the repository.

  • Patent number: 9074944
Abstract: A thermal indicator device is disclosed for providing an indication that an article of food is heated to a certain level of preparedness. The thermal indicator device comprises a stake and a marker secured to the stake. The stake comprises an end adapted for insertion into the food. The marker is adapted for movement between a retracted position and an extended position. The marker is retained in the retracted position via a string, and actuated to the extended position via an internal spring. Accordingly, at a temperature below the melting temperature, the string maintains the marker in the retracted position, and when the internal temperature of the food rises to a temperature equal to or higher than the melting temperature, the string melts to permit release of the marker into the extended position. Once the string melts, the internal spring actuates the marker into the extended position for visual indication.

  • Patent number: 8788419
Abstract: A method and system are provided for mitigating the risk of fraud in Internet banking. In an embodiment comprising an end user seeking access to the Internet banking site of a financial institution, the end user having already satisfied a first authentication requirement (such as providing a valid user ID and password), the end user is required to satisfy a second authentication test when a measure of improbability associated with the login exceeds a threshold. The measure of improbability, in an embodiment, is based on the improbability of a combination of session statistics such as IP address, browser ID, hour of day, and time since the user's last valid login.
