  • Patent number: 10527415
Abstract: A level including a rotating level vial is provided. The level includes a locking mechanism that utilizes an actuator that engages a brake to lock the rotating vial into the desired position. The locking mechanism may include a spring element that is compressed by the actuator during locking, and the spring element in turn pushes against the brake facilitating control of the normal force that the brake applies to the vial surround of the rotating vial. The rotating level vial may engage the level body such that the rotating level vial is permitted to rotate 360 degrees in both the clockwise and counter clockwise directions.

  • Publication number: 20060005529
Abstract: A turbine engine has a circumferentially segmented shroud within a case structure. Each shroud segment is mounted for movement between an inboard position and an outboard position. One or more springs bias the shroud segments toward their inboard positions. One or more valves are positioned to vent one or more volumes so as to counter the spring bias to shift the shroud segments to their outboard positions.

  • Patent number: 6098298
Abstract: A new level for determining whether surfaces are level and plumb. The inventive device includes an elongate main member and a elongate insertion member. The main member has first and second ends, and top and bottom faces. The top face of the main member has an hole therein. A first bubble vial is provided in the hole of the top face of the main member. The elongate insertion member has first and second ends, and top and bottom faces. The top face of the insertion member has an hole therein. A second bubble vial is provided in the hole of the top face of the insertion member. The second end of the insertion member is slidably received by the first end of the main member. The insertion member is biased away from the second end of the main member in a direction along the longitudinal axis of the main member.
