  • Patent number: 9440577
Abstract: A wrecker-type recovery vehicle for recovering other, disabled vehicles, and a method for doing so, which may use a CAN Bus, and which may employ wrecker controls located a distance from a side surface of the vehicle exterior. Traveler rollers may be used to facilitate longitudinal movement of a travel base assembly supporting the boom, relative to the vehicle frame.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 7, 2014
Date of Patent: September 13, 2016
Assignee: Miller Industries Towing Equipment, Inc.
Inventors: Ralph McConnell, Joseph C Brown, John L Hawkins, William G Miller, II, Mark Dyer

  • Patent number: 6923437
Abstract: Apparatus for feeding sheets of media to a media processor may include a take-away roller for engaging a first sheet of media. It may further include a first sensor for detecting a movement of the first sheet of media past the take-away roller. The apparatus may include a feed roller and a second sensor for detecting a movement of the first sheet of media past the feed roller. The apparatus may further include a second motor for driving the feed roller. Also, the apparatus may include an ejection roller, a third sensor for detecting the movement of the first sheet of media past the ejection roller, and a third motor for driving the ejection roller.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 27, 2002
Date of Patent: August 2, 2005
    Assignee: VIDAR Systems Corporation
Inventors: Yuchi Huang, Brian J. Loch, Joseph C. Brown, Rodger M. Hopkins, Edward W. Bindon, John S. Baumgartner

  • Publication number: 20040101208
Abstract: A first signal and a second signal are obtained using a first and second image sensors, respectively. The first signal and the second signal are converted from analog to digital form. The first signal and the second signal are then averaged to improve the signal to noise ratio of the resulting signal. The first signal may be obtained using a channel corresponding to a first channel. The second signal may be obtained using a channel corresponding to a second channel. Further, a third signal may also be obtained using a channel corresponding to a third channel. Then, the first, second, and third signals may be averaged to generate an averaged signal.

  • Patent number: 4624009
Abstract: An improved acoustic signal recognition system, suitable for speech or other acoustic pattern recognition, features data compression of original signal data to reduce requirements for data storage and comparison, as well as reduce recognition errors, the data is compressed by discarding signal spectral samples which do not vary from previously stored spectral samples by a threshold amount, using difference-gating.
