  • Patent number: 5099604
Abstract: An artificial stem for a natural cut flower, which includes a water absorbent element, e.g., one or more chenille wires or a sponge. The chenille wires, i.e., a plurality of water absorbent fibers supported between twisted wires, are capable of storing water and providing a path for water to flow to the flower. They also provide good frictional and water-transmitting contact with the cut flower.
