Abstract: A method and computer program product to procure digital rights management (DRM) event data comprises collecting a first set of event data in one or more standardized event data formats, and communicating the first set of event data to an event data collection server for storage. A second set of event data may also be collected in one or more standardized event data formats, which is also communicated to the event data collection server for storage. The method and computer program product may also include storing the first set, and optional second set, of event data in a centralized repository, authorizing access to the event data, and responding to at least one query from an authorized audit computer to provide event data associated with at least one of the first set of event data and the second set of event data retrieved from the centralized repository.

A set of archiving configuration messages residing within at least one messaging account in the set of messaging accounts is identified in response to the querying. At least one message in the messaging account is archived based on an archiving configuration message associated with the message in the set of archiving configuration messages.

Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for managing a retention period for electronic content data are disclosed. The method includes running a records manager system. The records manager system defines a retention period for a plurality of electronic content data. The records manager system instructs a digital rights manager system to protect each of the plurality of electronic content data. Each of the plurality of electronic content data are protected with at least one usage policy for at least one of the plurality of electronic content data related to the retention period as governed by the records manager system. The defined retention period is logged, for later auditing, for each of the plurality of the electronic content data.

Abstract: A method and system are disclosed for efficiently storing an operating state of a data processing system having a volatile memory within a nonvolatile mass storage device. In response to a selected input, a determination is made whether storing the operating state of the data processing system is possible. If storing the operating state is possible, scheduling of tasks to be performed by the data processing system is halted. Data not required for operation of the data processing system is then removed from the volatile memory. The operating state of the data processing system is stored within the nonvolatile mass storage device, thereby enabling the operating state of the data processing system to be efficiently restored. Thereafter, power is removed from the data processing system. In response to restoring power to the data processing system, a determination is made whether the operating state of the data processing system is stored within the nonvolatile mass storage device.

Abstract: A data processing system graphical user interface that is customizable to any user-selected color bitmap image is provided. According to the present invention, a user-selected color bitmap image containing a plurality of major objects is imported into the data processing system and set as a scene for the data processing system's graphical user interface. Major objects in the scene are then automatically identified, wherein a major object is one having a plurality of pixels of a selected characteristic. An identified major object is then selected and associated with a set of data, such that when the major object is subsequently selected, a particular data processing system operation is automatically performed utilizing the associated data set.
