  • Publication number: 20240410186
Abstract: A vibrating screed including a screed member, a brushless direct-current motor, a power switching network coupled between a power source and the brushless direct-current motor, and an exciter assembly that vibrates the screed member when torque is received from the motor, and an electric processor. The electric processor is electrically coupled to the motor and the power switching network and is configured to operate the brushless direct-current motor at a selected speed by providing pulse-width modulated signals to the power switching network, the pulse-width modulated signals having a duty ratio, determine a current speed of the brushless direct-current motor, determine whether a difference between the selected speed and the current speed is above a threshold amount, and modify the duty ratio by a predetermined amount when the difference between the selected speed and the current speed is above the threshold amount to continue operating the motor at the selected speed.

  • Patent number: 12084873
Abstract: A vibrating screed comprising a screed member, a motor, and an exciter assembly configured to vibrate the screed member in response to receiving torque from the motor via a driveshaft. The exciter assembly includes a first eccentric mass fixed on the driveshaft and a second eccentric mass axially and rotationally moveable along the driveshaft between a first position and a second position in which the second eccentric mass is axially closer to the first eccentric mass than in the first position. The vibrating screed further comprises a mode selection member to switch the exciter assembly between a first, low vibration mode, in which the second eccentric mass is in the first position, and a second, high vibration mode, in which the second eccentric mass is in the second position.

  • Publication number: 20230228044
Abstract: A vibrating screed includes a power unit, a plurality of screed blades, wherein each of the plurality of screed blades is removably engageable with the power unit one at a time. The vibrating screed further includes a power unit controller operably coupled to the power unit, a memory operably coupled to the power unit controller, and a blade selector operably coupled to the power unit controller. The power unit controller is operable to receive a blade selection from the blade selector, the blade selection indicating a size of a particular screed blade within the plurality of screed blades; retrieve a range of operating speeds associated with the blade selection; and set the operational speed of the vibrating screed to correspond to the range of operating speeds associated with the blade selection.

  • Publication number: 20230049127
Abstract: A vibratory rammer includes an upper mass, a lower mass coupled to the upper mass, a longitudinal axis extending centrally through the upper mass and the lower mass, and a handle coupled to the upper mass with a handle vibration dampening mechanism that is configured to attenuate vibration transmitted to the handle. The handle is configured to support a user interface on a first side of the longitudinal axis. A motor is coupled to the upper mass and a drive mechanism is operably coupled to the motor and the lower mass. The drive mechanism configured to move the lower mass in a reciprocating manner. A battery provides power to the motor and is coupled to the upper mass with a battery vibration dampening mechanism that is configured to attenuate vibration transmitted to the battery. The battery positioned on a second side of the longitudinal axis opposite the first side.
