  • Patent number: 9665818
Abstract: Aspects of the invention relate to a smart card that includes an OLED display. The smart card may store data associated with multiple purchasing instruments and utilize the OLED display to present sensitive data associated with a user selected purchasing instrument. In response to the selection, the smart card may transmit sensitive data associated with the selected purchasing instrument. The OLED display may allow the smart card to include a customizable face. The OLED display may present video, colors or any suitable text. For example, the OLED display may present a user's credit limit, rewards or spend categories. Such smart cards may be easily re-branded as a result of the smart card not being permanently tied to an embossed number. New sensitive data may be pushed to the smart card and thereby allow it to be used immediately based on the new sensitive data.

  • Publication number: 20080033457
Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a system for occluding a left atrial appendage of a patient. Some embodiments of the system can include a ring occluder that can be positioned around the left atrial appendage and a ring applicator to position the ring occluder with respect to the left atrial appendage. One embodiment discloses a method of accessing endocardial surfaces of the heart through the atrial appendage. Additional embodiments of the invention provide a clip occluder that can be positioned around the left atrial appendage. A clip applicator can position the clip occluder with respect to the left atrial appendage.

  • Publication number: 20050096590
Abstract: A deflection mechanism for selectively inducing a bend in a catheter body includes an elongated deflection wire extending within a deflection lumen of the catheter body and into a handle. A guide track is formed within the handle and a thumb wheel is mounted proximal to the elongated guide track within the handle and supports a pinion gear; the thumb wheel and the pinion gear are adapted to be rotated about a common thumb wheel axis, which extends substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis. A rack arm extends obliquely to the longitudinal axis of the handle and includes runners received by the guide track, an attachment point coupling the deflection wire to the rack arm and a linear rack engaging the pinion gear. Rotation of the thumb wheel in a first direction draws the deflection wire proximally through the deflection lumen.
