Abstract: Disclosed is a cleansing wipe that comprises the hydrophobic cloth and a cleansing or moisturizing composition, the composition including a cleanser and a silicone emulsion. The cleansing or moisturizing composition is aqueous but has sufficient affinity to the cleansing cloth to allow forcibility in transport and handling of the cloth. When applied to the skin of a patient, the silicone is released from the cloth in an amount effective to inhibit trans-epidermal water loss. The emulsion may comprise, for instance, a C14-22 alcohol or a C12-20 alkyl glucoside. The cleansing or moisturizing composition may include components such as cleansers and humectants, and may include other ingredients such as skin nourishers.

Abstract: An extract of the marine algae, Sarcodiotheca, and more particularly Sarcodiotheca gaudichaudii, is described for use in cosmetic compositions. A biofermentation of Sarcodiotheca, such as for example S. gaudichaudii, is also described. This marine bioferment is useful as a skin care active ingredient for anti-aging cosmetic applications, and particularly useful when used in combination with an extracts of red algae, such as Chondrus crispus.

Abstract: A skin care active complex in accordance with an embodiment of the invention comprises a combination of (1) from about 0.001% to about 10% by weight, preferably from about 0.001% to about 5% by weight, of a vitamin A derivative; (2) from about 0.00001% to about 10% by weight of a hydroxamate derivative; (3) from about 0.01% to about 5% by weight of an anti-inflammatory natural compound; and optionally, (1) from about 0.001% to about 10% by weight of vitamin K.

Abstract: A cosmetic skin care composition includes salicylhydroxamate or one or more other hydroxamate derivatives in an amount of about 0.001% to about 10.0% by weight, and nordihydroguaiaretic acid or one or more other antioxidants in an amount of about 0.00001% to about 10% by weight. The composition can be optionally encapsulated in a liposomal vehicle.
