Patent number: 11958916Abstract: A hydrocolloid or aqueous solution comprising a poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compound is disclosed having a viscosity of at least about 10 centipoise (cPs). The poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compound in these compositions has a degree of substitution of about 0.05 to about 3.0. Also disclosed is a method for increasing the viscosity of a hydrocolloid or aqueous composition using a poly alpha-1,3-glucan ether compound.Type: GrantFiled: December 11, 2020Date of Patent: April 16, 2024Assignee: NUTRITION & BIOSCIENCES USA 4, INC.Inventors: Rahul B. Kasat, Jayme L. Paullin, Andrea M. Perticone, T. Joseph Dennes, Rakesh Nambiar, Michael W. Cobb

Patent number: 11370036Abstract: An end effector provides one up assembly drilling through mated components, including a panel, by preloading the components. The end effector includes a drill and clamp dispenser for temporarily inserting and removing expansible single-sided clamps at various pre-drilled locations in the panel. In one method, pilot holes are first pre-drilled into mated components, for example an aircraft wing panel and a wing rib or spar; an initial pilot hole location is identified, and an expansible clamp is inserted into a pilot hole adjacent a desired initial fastener hole location. The clamp is torqued, causing its expansion for preloading the wing panel and rib and/or spar components under a predetermined load. The fastener hole is then drilled, the end effector untorques and removes the clamp and identifies a second (and/or next) pilot hole location, and the process is replicated.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2016Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Fei Cai, Tanni Sisco, Matthew Ryan Dunaj, Brian Joseph Cobb

Patent number: 10306122Abstract: An end effector is provided. The end effector comprises a housing, a movement system within the housing, an inspection system, a collar installation system, and a sealant application system. The housing has an operating window. The movement system comprises at least one of a rotation mechanism or a number of linear slides. The inspection system is associated with the movement system. The collar installation system is associated with the movement system. The sealant application system is associated with the movement system. Activating the movement system positions any of the inspection system, the collar installation system, or the sealant application system in an active position relative to the operating window.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2015Date of Patent: May 28, 2019Assignee: The Boeing CompanyInventors: Monica Joy Brockway, Tanni Sisco, Fei Cai, Todd Christopher Grossaint, Matthew Ryan Dunaj, Mark William Brown, Brian Joseph Cobb, Michael George Payionk, Justin Ronald Via

Publication number: 20180111701Abstract: An end effector provides one up assembly drilling through mated components, including a panel, by preloading the components to assure interface integrity, thus avoiding subsequent separation for cleaning and deburring. Patent number: 7828476Abstract: An infrared inspection and reporting process and system obtains inspection data on site via a portable computer. An actual temperature of a component derived from an infrared image and a temperature delta between the temperature of the component and the maximum temperature for the component is calculated to determine if there is a problem. A criticality level is assigned for each problem component from a plurality of criticality levels each having a predetermined range for the temperature delta. The criticality level provides an accurate and consistent assessment of component conditions. The inspection data is up linked to a home server from the portable computer and is made available to the customer via an interactive, on-line web application. The customer can interact with the inspection dating including an interactive prediction of energy savings if the problem component is repaired.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2008Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Assignee: Predictive Services, LLCInventors: Donald Frankel, Joseph Cobb, Shawn Goertzen
