  • Patent number: 11097183
Abstract: An automatic card shuffler to shuffle eight decks of cards (or less) and deal a round of Baccarat. The automatic shuffler comprises two pre-shuffle bins, each receiving approximately four decks of cards wherein the pre-shuffle bins are spaced apart from one another with card slides directing to a card-receiving area. Cards are randomly selected from the cards in each of the pre-shuffle bins and propelled onto the card slides directing the cards to the card-receiving area. Once a sufficient number of buffer cards (e.g., seven) have been deposited into the card-receiving area, a card flipper moves the seven cards against a face plate of an integral dealing shoe. A buffer-holder member maintains the buffer cards against the face plate for dealing as the card flipper returns to a home position to receive more shuffled cards while buffer cards are being dealt in a round of Baccarat.

Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed for measuring polarisation of electromagnetic illumination. The method includes the steps of modulating a polarisation state of illumination received from a target object to generate modulated intensity illumination, selectively measuring an intensity of the modulated intensity illumination by periodically gating an exposure of an imaging device to the modulated intensity illumination at a first gating frequency; responsive to the measured intensity, determining polarisation parameters of the received illumination, and generating image data corresponding to the target object with a plurality of the polarisation parameters, wherein the illumination from the target object is modulated in accordance with a first frequency and the first gating frequency is associated with and synchronised with at least the first frequency.

  • Patent number: 9813591
Abstract: A method of determining multi-level printing parameters for a printing device includes identifying printing parameters for each of multiple colorant levels; providing at least one density measurement at a known coverage for each colorant level; providing an aim curve relating input tone value to printed density value; and identifying multiple test parameter sets. The method further includes, for each of the test parameter sets at each of multiple input tone values, determining a printed density value based on the parameters of the test parameter set and the density measurements, and determining an error value from differences between the determined printed density values and the aim curve. The method also includes selecting one of the test parameter sets using the determined error values; and communicating the selected one of the plurality of test parameter sets for receipt by the printing device for printing documents. Systems and software can employ the method.

  • Patent number: 9573047
Abstract: A single deck shuffler includes a pre-shuffle bin, card-selector assembly, drive wheel and post-shuffle bin. The pre-shuffle bin is configured to accept a single deck of cards. While in the pre-shuffle bin, a modest downward force is applied to the single deck of cards. A base of the pre-shuffle bin is an independent member that selectively raises and lowers the deck of cards pursuant to a randomly-selected card number (e.g., 1-52). Once positioned correctly based on the randomly-selected card number, an upper body of the card-selector assembly moves forward to push a number of cards off the top of the deck corresponding to the randomly-selected card number thereby exposing a bottom card (i.e., the randomly-selected card) to a drive wheel. The drive wheel propels the card from the pre-shuffle bin into the post-shuffle bin. The process is repeated until each card is propelled into the post-shuffle bin.

  • Patent number: 9466132
Abstract: Emission event data of an object of interest is acquired with a detector comprising a plurality of rings defining corresponding slices. Also, an amount of motion for each of a plurality of segments is determined with one or more processing units, wherein each segment corresponds to less than an axial field of view (AFOV) of the detector. Further, motion mitigation is performed for segments for which the amount of motion satisfies a threshold to provide motion mitigated data, and not performed for segments for which the amount of motion does not satisfy the threshold to provide non-mitigated data. An image is reconstructed using the motion mitigated data and the non-mitigated data, and the image is displayed on a display.

  • Publication number: 20160135768
Abstract: A method and system for displaying a physiologic waveform. The method and system acquire positron emission tomography (PET) coincidence event data of an object of interest. The method and system further select a subset of the PET coincidence event data corresponding to a time window and apply a multivariate data analysis technique to the subset of the PET coincidence event data. The method and system also generate a physiologic waveform based on the multivariate data analysis, and display the physiologic waveform on a display.

  • Patent number: 9088281
Abstract: A mobile computing device includes a processor and a trigger device operatively attached to the mobile computing device and configured to generate a mechanical vibration pattern for selectively actuating the mobile computing device. A trigger interface, illustratively an accelerometer, is configured to convert the mechanical vibration pattern into an electrical signal pattern. A table of properties stored in memory correlates the mechanical vibration generated by the trigger device with a specific mobile computing function. The trigger device may include a plurality of trigger parts; and the mechanical vibration pattern generated by the trigger device may include multiple bits of data generated by the plurality of trigger parts. The mobile computing device may be in a candy bar, clam shell, or other form factor and may include a removable handle.
