Abstract: The present invention is a modular binder which allows for the quick exchange of binder covers and/or pocket inserts such that the user can customize his or her binder to a particular need or situation. The binder includes a ring assembly with a guide member attached near one end of the ring assembly. A first fastener portion is attached near a second end of the ring assembly. The binder includes a binder cover configured to receive the guide member. A second fastener portion is attached to the cover such that when the guide member is received by the cover, the first and second fastener portions can be releasably secured to each other. The modular binder also includes a pocket insert configured to be captured between the ring assembly and the binder cover.
