  • Patent number: 9319828
Abstract: Methods, devices and apparatus are disclosed, including a method of establishing a wireless connection with a device, the method including transmitting at least one Bluetooth advertising message on at least one Bluetooth channel, receiving a Bluetooth message indicating a connection request from the device, sending a Bluetooth message indicating at least one of a physical channel and an address to the device, and establishing the wireless connection with the device using the at least one of the address and the physical channel, wherein the wireless connection uses a different wireless technology to Bluetooth.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 24, 2013
Date of Patent: April 19, 2016
    Assignee: CSR Technology Inc.
Inventors: Joseph Decuir, Raja Banerjea, Jeremy Stark
  • Publication number: 20140380443
Abstract: The secure sharing of network security credentials allows a wireless communication device to connect to a network. By sharing the security credentials out of band, using a different communications protocol (such as Bluetooth or Bluetooth Low Energy), devices can be easily and securely connected to the network.

  • Patent number: 7882906
Abstract: A drilling and vibratory jarring device is provided. The device has an inner mandrel shiftable upward or downward in an outer housing from an intermediate position in the outer housing. When the inner mandrel is in the intermediate position within the outer housing mating splines, one set of splines attached to inner mandrel, the other set of splines attached to the outer housing, engage and rotatably lock inner mandrel and outer housing together. When the inner mandrel is shifted to the upward position said splines disengage and the saw-tooth surfaces of an upper pair of jars engage creating longitudinal vibratory forces down-hole when inner mandrel is rotated with respect to outer housing. When the inner mandrel is shifted to the downward position said splines disengage and the saw-tooth surfaces of an lower pair of jars engage creating longitudinal vibratory forces down-hole when inner mandrel is rotated with respect to outer housing.

  • Publication number: 20050182954
Abstract: An e-mail sender client accesses an e-mail message and sets an associated “eyes-only” indicator indicating that functions that limit the opportunity to disseminate e-mail messages are to be applied to the e-mail message. The e-mail sender client then encrypts the e-mail message, and dispatches the e-mail message to the e-mail reader client in encrypted form. Upon receipt, the e-mail server determines that the e-mail message has the eyes-only indicator set. In response, the e-mail server verifies that the e-mail reader client is capable of implementing the “eyes-only” functions and authenticates the user of the e-mail reader client as being an intended recipient. The e-mail server then transmits the encrypted e-mail message to the e-mail reader client. Upon receipt, the e-mail reader client determines that the e-mail message has an associated “eyes-only” indicator set, and then applies the appropriate “eyes-only” functions to the e-mail message.

  • Patent number: 4891514
Abstract: A device for monitoring radon exposure including a cube-shaped, light-tight detection chamber having approximately one-inch square sides, five sides of which each contain an integrated circuit alpha particle detector, with a sixth side having fluid intake and exhaust ports and temperature and humidity sensors. Each integrated circuit device is responsive to detect alpha particles emitted by any decaying radon-222 atoms or daughter isotopes within the detection chamber. The detected results of each integrated circuit device is communicated to an external logic system which calculates the relative level of radon concentration within the chamber and stores the information in memory, or reports the information to a variety of peripheral devices.
