  • Publication number: 20100312490
Abstract: A method for determining carbon emissions from a steam generation system is disclosed. It includes measuring a first energy of feedwater entering into a steam generation system and measuring a second energy of steam exiting the steam generation system. The first energy is subtracted from the second energy to determine a total energy absorbed by the steam generation system. The total energy absorbed by the steam generation system is divided by the total energy to determine a heat input to the steam generation system. The heat input is used to determine the carbon emissions from the steam generation system.

  • Publication number: 20100215879
Abstract: Disclosed are multilayer film structures having annular profiles, and methods and apparatus of making the structures disclosed. The annular multilayer articles have a uniform thickness, at least four layers and comprise overlapped and non-overlapped circumferential areas; wherein the layer structure of the non-overlapped area is doubled in the overlapped layer. A method of making the structure includes providing a multilayer flow stream with at least four layers of thermoplastic resinous materials; feeding the multilayer flow stream to a distribution manifold of an annular die to form an annular multilayer flow stream; and removing the annular multilayer flow stream from the annular die to form the annular multilayer structure.

  • Patent number: 7512560
Abstract: A system and method for conducting ADR swaps is disclosed where ADR swap requests are read into a queue. The swap requests are then matched by security type. For example, a swap request can be made to exchange ADRs in a first security for underlying shares in the same security. The matching swap requests are then executed and the ADRs and underlying shares are exchanged.

  • Publication number: 20080023030
Abstract: A method for cleaning contaminated surfaces of surgical waste management equipment. The method includes rinsing surfaces of the equipment with water to remove water soluble contaminants and waste material. A rinse solution is applied to the surfaces of the equipment to provide a residual film thereon. The rinse solution includes a first nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB value ranging from about 10 to about 15, a second nonionic alkoxylated alcohol surfactant having an HLB value ranging from about 16 to 20, an aqueous solvent, and optionally, a bio-film permeation agent. A total of the first surfactant and the second surfactant in the composition ranges from about 2 to about 20 percent by weight of a total weight of the composition, and a ratio of the second surfactant to the first surfactant in the composition ranges from about 2:1 to about 4:1.

  • Publication number: 20020028309
Abstract: A tubular, multilayer film comprises a central barrier layer and a pair of adhesive layers on opposite sides of the central barrier layer. The adhesive layers completely cover the central barrier layer. Opposing edges of the central barrier layer overlap longitudinally along the tubular, multilayer film. The total thickness of the central barrier layers in the overlapping portion is substantially the same as the thickness of the central barrier layer in the non-overlapping portion. The tubular, multilayer film also includes inner and outer surface layers. The inner surface layer extends completely around the interior of the tubular, multilayer film, and the outer surface layer extends completely around the exterior of the tubular, multilayer film.

Abstract: An undercarriage arrangement for normally static objects such as work-benches comprises at least one pair of wheels or rollers (5) which are mounted for rotation on at least one support member (6) pivotably mountable on the object (1, 2, 3, 4). A spring biassing arrangement is provided, one end of the spring (11) being pivotally mounted (at 12) on the support member (6) and the other end thereof being attached to member (8) mounted on the object (1, 2, 3, 4). The member (8) may comprise a pivotal lever (8) or projections. In either case, the second end of the spring (11) can be displaced between two or more pre-selected positions with the proviso that at least two of the pre-selected positions are disposed on opposed sides of a vertical plane passing through the pivot axis (7) for at least one support member (6).

  • Patent number: 4423624
Abstract: A stroboscopic timing system for diesel engines of the type having apertures in each cylinder for normally accepting glow plugs. A signal that varies in accordance with pressure changes within the cylinder is generated by a piezoelectric transducer mateable with a glow plug aperture, and the transducer signal is processed by filtering and other discriminating circuitry to provide a timing pulse that occurs upon the initiation of combustion within the cylinder. A conditioning circuit shapes this pulse into suitable form for triggering a high intensity stroboscopic light for illuminating timing marks on the engine drivetrain.
