  • Cable cutting tool having an improved cutting blade

    Abstract: A cable cutting tool provides an improved blade configuration. The tool includes a pair of pivotally connected cutting blade members having facing curved cutting edges. Each curved cutting edge is in the shape of a spiral. Progressive movement of the cutting blades causes the cable to be progressively severed towards the pivot connection of the blades over large angular rotation. The cutting angles of the blades may be constructed so that the cutting angle is greater adjacent the inner portion of the spiral. This facilitates the effect of cutting cable constructed with hard cores or members (i.e., ACSR cable).
