  • Publication number: 20160185931
Abstract: Polyurethane foams which are highly flame resistant are described, as well as the production of such polyurethane foams by the reaction between a natural polyol, such as sucrose or a blend of mono- or disaccharides in place of the standard hydrocarbon-based polyol component, a polyisocyanate and water in the presence of a suitable polyurethane forming catalyst and a non-halogenated flame retardant, and optionally one or more components such as surfactants and/or emulsifiers. The resultant polyurethane foam has a bio-based solid content ranging from about 17% to 30%, may be formulated in a variety of foam densities for a variety of applications, and exhibits a high degree of fire and burn resistance, as exhibited by the flame spread index, flash over resistance determination, and the smoke spread values.

  • Patent number: 6833711
Abstract: The apparatus detects an out-of-step condition following the clearing of an external multi-phase fault in a protective relay. The apparatus includes a circuit which detects the presence of an external multi-phase fault on the power line and a timing circuit for readying an out-of-step logic detection circuit in the protective relay if the external fault remains for a pre-selected period of time. An out-of-step condition is declared and a signal blocking operation of selected distance elements in the protective relay is produced if the positive sequence impedance on the line remains inside an outer protection zone boundary in the impedance plane for a selected period of time, wherein the out-of-step blocking signal continues as long as the positive sequence impedance remains inside the second boundary.

  • Publication number: 20040200506
Abstract: A portable apparatus cleans a passage such as an oxygen line by circulating a cleaning medium, such as a silicated alkaline cleaner such as OCC, through the passage. A rinse medium, such as distilled water, may than be circulated through the passage. The cleaning medium and the rinse medium may be filtered, and a flush medium is preferably circulated through the passage after the circulation of the cleaning medium and before the circulation of the rinse medium.
