  • Publication number: 20090236869
Abstract: An automobile light attenuating system mounted above the doors and windshield around both sides and the front of an automobile interior designed to allow a special light-blocking plate to be positioned along a support frame by an automobile driver using simple finger-tip controls mounted on a steering wheel. A carriage supports and conveys the light-blocking plate throughout the range of the support frame when a dc motor is activated. The DC motor draws the carriage along the frame by pulling a cable in a first or a second, opposite, direction, according to the position of control switches activated by the automobile driver. Thus, a driver is able to conveniently and quickly move an effective light attenuating means into any optimal position between himself or herself and a source of bright light to reduce the blinding effect caused by the bright light.

  • Patent number: 5485995
Abstract: A portable, low-cost robot serving assembly for serving table tennis balls includes a tray for holding a plurality of table tennis balls and a robot server removably mounted inside the tray. The robot-can be mounted to the front or rear of the tray and receive balls through a front opening positioned within the tray. The tray contains a quick release mounting assembly for mounting the assembly on a table, the mounting assembly being foldable for convenient carrying or storage. The assembly is designed such that a net assembly, ball troughs or panning head can be added if desired.

  • Patent number: 5383658
Abstract: A robot server device includes a ball container constructed to hold a plurality of table tennis balls and a robot server that is mounted within the container and designed to receive balls from the container. A trough assembly is mounted to the container and extends horizontally or laterally away from the container. The server assembly has a dual net assembly surrounding the robot to direct balls into the trough assembly and container in order to feed balls back to the robot. The net assembly contains a rear ball impervious net and a forward net designed to allow balls striking the forward net at a predetermined velocity to pass through the forward net, then strike the rear net and finally drop in the trough assembly. Balls striking the forward net with insufficient velocity to penetrate the forward net will also drop into the trough assembly.

  • Patent number: 5335905
Abstract: A net and trough assembly for a robot table tennis ball serving device the trough is foldable for storage in a carrying case. The net of the assembly has a dual net arrangement for surrounding a robot to capture balls in the trough in order to feed balls back to a robot. The net contains a rear ball impervious net and a forward net designed to allow balls striking the forward net at a predetermined velocity to pass through the forward net, then strike the rear net and finally drop in the trough. Balls striking the forward net with insufficient velocity to penetrate the forward net will also drop into the trough assembly. The trough employs a pair of removable ball dams positioned in the trough on opposite sides of a robot to create a storage area for the balls. A hole of predetermined size in each dam serves as a go/no-go gauge for ball sizing.
