  • Patent number: 7024701
Abstract: Methods and systems for transforming a volume of material into sleeves by means of a transforming fastener. The transforming fastener has multiple tracks, each track having a pair of matable rows. A slider coupled to the rows transforms the volume of material into sleeves when the slider moves along the rows. The slider accomplishes this transformation by fastening one of the pair of rows while simultaneously unfastening another of the pair of rows.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 20, 2003
Date of Patent: April 11, 2006
    Assignee: Z Gear, Inc.
Inventors: Justin Douglas Marty, Joseph Edward Marty, Joshua Craig Pace
  • Patent number: 6993792
Abstract: A draft barrier system having a sliding fastener that lets a user selectively alternate a volume of material between open and closed formations. When the sliding fastener closes the volume of material into the closed formation, insulation is compressed together to form a seal that helps prevent air from moving between the interior and the environment through the sliding fastener.

  • Patent number: 6981282
Abstract: Methods and systems for transforming a volume of material into pant legs by means of a transforming fastener. The transforming fastener has multiple tracks, each track having a pair of matable rows. A slider coupled to the rows transforms the volume of material into pant legs when the slider moves along the rows. The slider accomplishes this transformation by fastening one of the pair of rows while simultaneously unfastening another of the pair of rows.

  • Patent number: 6742225
Abstract: A connect-release zipping system basically comprising four zipper tracks, four zipper sliders on the zipper tracks, and a central connector to which the zipper sliders are affixed. The zipper sliders are fixed to the central connector in such a way that when one of the zipper sliders moves along its respective zipper track, all of the other zipper sliders simultaneously move along their respective zipper tracks. This simultaneous movement causes two zipper tracks to zip together, and two zipper tracks to unzip. The connect-release zipping system may be incorporated into a sleeping bag to allow the bag to easily transform into a jumpsuit.
