  • Patent number: 9927763
Abstract: An imaging device with a two door interlock system for detecting a positional state of orthogonally mounted first and second access doors of the imaging device. The two door interlock system includes a mounting assembly rotatably mounted to a frame of the imaging device and movable by the first access door between a first position and a second position, and an actuator projecting from an inner surface of the second access door, and a sensor positioned on the mounting assembly and providing an output signal that changes between a first state and a second state. The output signal being in the first state when both of the first and second access doors are in their respective closed positions and in the second state when at least one of the first and second access doors are in their respective open positions.

  • Patent number: 7837168
Abstract: The application includes various embodiments of devices and methods for mounting a motor within an image forming apparatus. The motor is mounted on a frame and positioned to engage and drive a component within the image forming apparatus. In one embodiment, the component is an imaging unit. The frame includes an opening to receive the motor. A locating member is attached to the frame and extends into the opening to contact the motor and provide accurate positioning for engagement with the component. The locating ring provides for a press fit with lower forces. Additional fasteners may fixedly connect the motor to the frame and maintain the accurate positioning provided by the locating member.

  • Publication number: 20100014885
Abstract: A system for creating a condition of substantial thermal consistency between multiple printer cartridges includes a frame defining a cavity for supporting the multiple cartridges spaced apart from one another and a plurality of components mounted to the frame in flow communication with one another and with the cavity via the frame. The plurality of components coact with one another and with the frame to generate, regulate and distribute an intake flow of cooling air from the frame into multiple inflows of cooling air along different spaced apart paths at different velocities through the cavity and between the spaced apart multiple cartridges for causing transformation of the multiple inflows of cooling air into multiple outflows of heated air by contact with the multiple cartridges and to exhaust the multiple outflows of heated air from the cavity and frame.

  • Publication number: 20080240835
Abstract: The present application is directed to devices and methods of protecting an input tray of an image forming apparatus. One embodiment of a device may include a mounting bracket that is attached to and positioned within an interior of the image forming apparatus. A cover may be movably attached to the mounting bracket. The cover may be positionable between a first retracted orientation positioned within the interior of the image forming apparatus and a second extended orientation positioned over a portion of the input tray that extends outward from the interior of the image forming apparatus. A biasing member may be operatively connected to the cover to bias the cover towards the first retracted orientation.
