Abstract: Method for manufacturing a timepiece stepping motor comprising the steps of: providing a flat one-piece stator member defining an opening for the rotor and having a pair of diametrically opposed narrow sections on either side of the opening; providing a movement frame having stator locating projections and defining a pair of holes larger than the narrow sections and extending through the movement frame; locating and attaching the stator to the frame with the narrow sections spanning the holes in the frame; cutting through the narrow sections with a laser to sever the stator into two members, utilizing the holes in the frame to dispose of vaporized metal from the stator; encapsulating and re-joining the severed sections with a plastic fixation; and attaching a coil core assembly to the stator members and in magnetic circuit therewith.

Abstract: The invention relates to a base element for a wristwatch in the form of a laminate, which simultaneously serves the purpose of a movement plate or frame and a case back and which consists of two integrally joined plates, these plates being bonded together in particular by means of a foil using ultrasonic heat-sealing. Such a base element may be manufactured with high precision simply and cheaply and has good stability, especially when a circular edge is folded to the inside of one of the plates of the base element for the purpose of reinforcement.

Abstract: A rocking motor for driving an indexing element in a quartz controlled analog wristwatch is impulsed once per minute. The indexing element and the indexed "center" wheel are carried between parallel shunt plates holding the permanent magnet. The driving element is deflected by a pulse from its rest position to tension a spring, and the minute wheel is indexed when the driving element is returned by the reset spring.

Abstract: The invention concerns, in particular, an electric wristwatch having an alarm device. In accordance with the invention, the impulses produced for driving the electric movement in the watch are, also, used for operating or controlling the signal-source to the alarm device. For example, in an electric quartz watch the impulses can be extracted from any chosen stage of the frequency divider and after amplificaton can be used to control the signal-source to a buzzer. It is the low pulse repetition frequency of the driving impulses, in balance wheel type watches, which leads to a distinctive signal.
