  • Patent number: 7600610
Abstract: A climb assist system for use in combination with a climbing structure having upper and lower ends. The climb assist system includes a header assembly for attachment to the upper end of the climbing structure. The header assembly includes a pulley frame having opposing front and rear ends and front and rear pulleys located adjacent the front and rear ends. Elongated guide members extend from the header assembly downwardly toward the lower end of the climbing structure. A climb assist cable extends over the front and rear pulleys and includes a front cable portion extending along a front side of the climbing structure for attachment to a worker, and a rear cable portion extending along a rear portion of the climbing structure adjacent to the guide members and attached to a counterweight for offsetting the worker's weight. The counterweight includes guide portions engaged with the guide members to guide the counterweight in a path closely adjacent to the ladder.

  • Patent number: 7219766
Abstract: A mid-span fall protection system including a remotely attachable fall protection latching mechanism for attachment to an elevated horizontal strand. The fall protection latching mechanism may be used with an elongated rigid structure for extending between a support surface and the elevated horizontal strand, where the fall protection latching mechanism is attached to an upper end of the elongated rigid structure. The fall protection latching mechanism includes a hook portion for engaging over the elevated horizontal strand to provide a support for the fall protection latching mechanism, and a fall protection line coupling structure attached to the hook portion for providing a direct connection between the hook portion and a fall protection line. A fall protection line is also provided having an upper end attached to and supported by the coupling structure, and includes a lower end located adjacent a lower end of the elongated rigid structure at the support surface.

  • Patent number: 6290195
Abstract: A system for providing a support for mounting accessories to a generally cylindrical structure, such as a vertical cell tower structure. The system includes a support bracket having a facing surface located in engagement with a surface of the structure. A flexible member extends around the structure and is engaged with opposing ends of the support bracket for holding the support bracket in position on the structure. A first tensioning device is provided and detachably mounts to the support bracket to provide a first, pretension force to the flexible member. A second tensioning device is provided for providing a second force greater than the first force whereby a clamping force is provided to the flexible member to positively clamp the support bracket in position on the structure. The first tensioning device is removed from the support bracket and replaced with an accessory mounting bracket for supporting accessories on the structure at the support bracket.

  • Patent number: 5855251
Abstract: A security device for detachably attaching a lanyard to a safety device. The device includes a main frame portion defining a U-shaped safety line channel for receiving a safety line, and a movable frame portion pivotally mounted to the main frame portion and carrying a cam portion for frictionally engaging the safety line. The cam portion is movable into engagement in response to a downward force from a lanyard attached to the movable frame portion. The cam portion is mounted on bushings aligned with apertures in the main frame portion and held in position by removable pin members. The pin members, in combination with the bushings provide a strong beam structure extending across the main frame portion to provide a rigid support structure for the cam portion for resisting deformation of the structure when a heavy load is applied.
