    Abstract: A roofing shingle including a weather resistant strip that has an exterior side and an interior side. The weather resistant strip has a top portion and a plurality of tabs that are divided by a plurality of slots. Each tab extends longitudinally between at least two slots. Included is an elongated metallic strip. The metallic strip has a face side and an underside that is attached to the exterior side of the weather resistant strip. The metallic strip is attached between the top portion and above each slot. Lastly, an elongated tar strip is attached to the face side of the metallic strip.
