  • Patent number: 4898211
Abstract: A rigid conduit refueling system for aircraft consisting of a wheeled support platform upon which swivel joints connected to a fuel supply source communicate with an arm conduit having a lower end pivotally mounted to the support platform and the upper end communicates with three elbow swivel couplings associated with a nozzle whereby the nozzle may be attached to the aircraft fuel tank inlet. Counterbalancing expansible chamber motors associated with the support platform and arm conduit bear the weight of the elevated components as controlled by a closed fluid circuit.

  • Patent number: 4703784
Abstract: A self-contained tank filling fitting having dual operation wherein the fitting may be used with a gravity fluid supply system or a pressurized fluid supply system. The fitting includes an elbow having an upper end closed by a removable cap, and a pressurized filling port located in the bend of the elbow aligns with a tank port to reduce resistance to pressurized fluid filling. An automatic differential pressure valve controlled by a float operated vent automatically closes the pressurized filling port upon the tank being filled.

  • Patent number: 4637640
Abstract: A conduit fitting of the quick connect push-in type wherein a tubular member having a radial shoulder is inserted into an annular body sealingly receiving the tube. A tube retainer employs a plurality of resilient fingers to maintain the tube within the body, while other resilient fingers position and maintain the retainer within the body and a third set of fingers engage and retain a seal in location. The retainer is stamped from flat spring steel stock.

  • Patent number: 4611618
Abstract: A frangible fluid fitting of the crash-worthy type utilizing a detent holding a self-closing valve in the open position. The detent engages a plurality of balls confined in a recess circumscribing the fitting attachment surface whereby only partial fracture of the fitting in any direction causes the self-sealing valve to close. One embodiment of the fitting permits both gravity and pressurized tank filling with automatic valve closing when the tank is full during pressurized filling.

  • Patent number: 4570981
Abstract: A seal for use with a conventional conical nose conduit fitting interposed between the conduit fitting parts wherein the seal includes a conical metal portion compressed between the coupling parts establishing metal-to-metal engagement, and the seal also includes an inner end to which an elastomer is bonded, the elastomer being compressed between the fitting surfaces to additionally provide elastomeric sealing.
