  • Patent number: 4773542
Abstract: A rectangular box carton according to the present invention has generally rectangular front, bottom, back, cover and closure panels. The front, bottom, back, cover and closure panels are consecutively joined at parallel fold lines and the closure panel is overlapped on and connected to said front panel to form a tube of generally rectangular cross section. Left and right endwalls close the ends of the tube.

  • Patent number: 4398661
Abstract: The interior of the paperboard carton is subdivided into two equal volumes by means of an internal divider panel which is formed as an extension of one end of the blank which is used to form the carton. The carton has front and back walls, side walls, and top and bottom closure flaps foldably connected to the front, back and side walls. The carton is formed from a one piece blank having opposite ends thereof overlapping each other and glued together at the center of the back wall, the divider panel is formed as an extension of one of the overlapping ends of the blank and is set back on that end of the blank so that the divider panel has basal marginal legs between which there extends a glue tab which is glued to the other end of the blank to form part of the glue seam joining the ends of the blank together. A paperboard material savings is realized by setting the divider panel back to form the marginal legs.

  • Patent number: 4377252
Abstract: A multi-compartment collapsible container made from a single integral blank is folded up and appropriately spotted with adhesive so that compartment forming panels extending from sections of the end walls and bottom walls lie in surface-to-surface relation initially with the end walls and side walls. The container thus manufactured may be shipped flat and erected at the place of the user by pushing on opposite ends of the folded carton in order to erect the carton with a longitudinal central partition and additional partitions extending from the longitudinal central partitions towards the side walls to create alternatively an erectible carton having eight cells in two rows of four with the cells being of substantially equal size or a carton having a pair of cells at each end, totalling four end cells with two larger cells intermediate the end cells which larger cells may themselves be convertible into smaller cells of equal size with the end cells totalling eight in all.

  • Patent number: 4354598
Abstract: This package is particularly adapted for carrying an article to display the latter at the point of sale. The package is formed from a unitary paperboard blank and includes product retaining openings along with integral product encircling portions to retain the product in the openings. The preferred embodiment of the package is adapted for use in carrying flashlights along with batteries carried separately by the package.

  • Patent number: 4326633
Abstract: A container preferably supporting a sealed beam headlight in which a pair of opposite flaps at each end are each provided with a short flap extending partially across each of the original flaps and secured thereto. The short adhesive flaps in turn have a longer flap attached thereto wherein the sum of the lengths of the longer flap and the short adhesive flap is greater than that of the first flap so that when the first flap is folded into closed position, the additional flap connected to the adhesive flap necessarily moves down into a diagonal relationship between the closing flap and the inside of the side wall. This structure is repeated on both sides at both ends. The diagonal flaps cushion the headlight. Each of the diagonal flaps in turn has a further flap which in the closed condition of the container extends along the inside of the side wall.

  • Patent number: 4265366
Abstract: An improved container for dispensing a plurality of individual sheets of material includes front, rear, top, bottom and end walls joined together to form an enclosure provided with an elongate dispensing opening in the top thereof. A platform panel is hingedly connected to the front wall adjacent the dispensing opening and extends rearwardly downward from the dispensing opening to a position slightly spaced from the rear wall to define a slot between the rear edge of the platform panel and the rear wall. A product comprising a plurality of stacked, individual sheets is supported in an elevated position by the platform panel, one edge of each of the sheets extending through the slot near the rear wall. A support panel hingedly connected between medial sections of the bottom panel and the inclined retaining panel form a compartment communicating with the slot and dispensing opening within which a portion of the sheets are disposed.

  • Patent number: 4212391
Abstract: A receptacle for carrying and displaying glassware formed from a blank comprising a single sheet of paper stock. The receptacle includes an open front and rear rectangular parallelopiped sleeve having a top, a bottom, and opposite side walls connecting the top and bottom wall, all of which are hinged to each other. Four cylindrical glassware items can be supported within the receptacle and displayed between a two part divider wall provided along the interior of the bottom and top wall and the other edges of the receptacle. One part of the divider wall is attached through a connecting panel to the interior of the top wall while the other part of the divider wall is attached through a connecting panel to the interior of the bottom wall.

  • Patent number: 4195765
Abstract: The present invention relates to a carton with at least one integrally formed handle comprising first and second opposing side walls, first and second opposing end walls integrally connecting said side walls to form a generally rectangular carton and top and bottom closure panels integrally attached to said side and end walls for enclosing said carton and, in particular, an improved top closure panel comprising inner and outer wall panels attached at their outer edges to said first and second side walls respectively and to each other in superimposed relationship, first and second congruent handles formed in said inner and outer walls, respectively, in a superimposed relationship, and means attaching said first and second handles to each other to form a unitary handle selectively movable from a horizontal to a vertical position for carrying said carton.

  • Patent number: 4155450
Abstract: A receptacle for carrying and displaying glassware formed from a blank comprising a single sheet of paper stock. The receptacle includes an open front and rear rectangular parallelopiped sleeve having a top, a bottom, and opposite side walls connecting the top and bottom wall, all of which are hinged to each other. Four cylindrical glassware items can be supported within the receptacle and displayed between a divider wall provided along the interior of the bottom and top wall and the outer edges of the receptacle. The divider wall is collapsible within the interior of the receptacle so as to enable the receptacle sides, top, and bottom, to pivot relative to each other and assume a substantially flat state for transportation and storage. A divider wall latching mechanism is movable from a first position which latches the divider wall in its upright position to a second position which allows the divider wall to collapse and thus cause the carrier to assume its flat state.
