  • Patent number: 7340809
Abstract: A multi-part closure provides remote indication of a secured or unsecured state of the closure. The closure includes first and second mating members that when engaged define a secured state and when disengaged define an unsecured state. A self-contained transmitter is disposed in the first member. A switch is disposed in the first member in electrical communication with the transmitter. The switch is positioned within the first member for engagement by the second member when the first and second members are mated with and secured to one another. A remote receiver provides indication of the engage or disengaged state of the first and second members.

  • Publication number: 20070215664
Abstract: A combustion-powered fastener-driving tool includes a combustion-powered power source, at least one fan for associated with the power source, at least one temperature sensing device in operational proximity to the power source and a control system operationally associated with the power source and connected to the at least one fan and at least one temperature sensing device for adjusting the length of time for energizing the at least one cooling fan as a function of power source temperature sensed by the at least one temperature sensing device.

  • Publication number: 20070086508
Abstract: A hand-held instrument, in certain embodiments, is configured to detect and indicate the surface temperature of an object. The hand-held instrument may include a temperature transducer, electronics, and a power source in a single hand-held chassis or housing. Additionally, the hand-held instrument may include a temperature indicator configured to output an indication of the temperature in real-time. The hand-held instrument may also include memory for storing data and communications circuitry for transmitting and receiving data to and from a remote unit or work station.

  • Publication number: 20070034659
Abstract: A combustion-powered fastener-driving tool includes a combustion-powered power source, a valve sleeve reciprocable relative to the power source between a rest position and a firing position, and a lockout device in operational proximity to the valve sleeve and configured for automatically preventing the reciprocation of the valve sleeve from the firing position until a piston in the power source returns to a pre-firing position.

  • Publication number: 20060266785
Abstract: A combustion-powered fastener-driving tool includes a combustion-powered-power source, a workpiece contact element reciprocable relative to the power source between a rest position and a firing position, a control system operationally associated with the power source, a trigger connected to the control system providing operator interface with the control system. The control system is configured so that an operator may select between a sequential firing mode in which the trigger must be released between firings, and a repetitive cycle mode in which the trigger is continually depressed between firings. The trigger is connected to the control system so that at least one of the frequency and duration of pulling of the trigger converts the operating mode from the sequential mode to the repetitive cycle mode.
