  • Publication number: 20230132882
Abstract: A honey bee mite removal device includes a chamber having a one-way entry gate opposing an exit gate. An electronics puck is positioned within the chamber as well as a fondant to entice honey bees to enter the chamber through the one-way entry gate. There is also a dusting assembly within the chamber adjacent to the exit gate to dispense dusting powder onto the honey bees so that the honey bees groom themselves dislodging any mites that are attached to the honey bees.

  • Publication number: 20170053310
Abstract: In one described system, a system receives information comprising user attributes from one or more key areas of user behavior, user preferences, and/or user opinion and positioning to derive an optimized predictive service for such user in relation to a particular good or service, or a particular category of good or service. In another described system, a system utilizes the predictive service and combines it with a user selected matching ratio, thus allowing the user to view an updated recommendation based on a comparison with similar users matched by one or more key areas of user behavior, user preferences, and/or user opinion and positioning. This type of system describes what we are calling Predictive Services.

  • Publication number: 20150323341
Abstract: A method in accordance with present embodiments includes receiving information indicating a selected destination from a pre-determined set of destinations in a geographic area and initial user location information. The method also includes determining a pedestrian route for the user to the destination through pre-determined waypoints based on the initial user location, wherein determining the pedestrian route comprises determining weighted geographic distances of a plurality of routes to the destination and selecting a route with a smallest or largest weighted geographic distance.

  • Publication number: 20080198749
Abstract: A technique for handling a service request in an information handling system includes receiving, at a data link layer device, a packet transmitted from a client, the data link layer device including multiple ports. The packet is examined to determine whether the packet includes a first-type request. The packet is then routed to a server via a trusted port, included within the multiple ports, when the packet includes the first-type request.

  • Publication number: 20080056823
Abstract: A beach erosion abatement system includes positioning a primary shoal module proximately to a low tide water point and submersed in a depth of water to conceal a top portion of the shoal module. The shoal module includes a hollow internal compartment, a water access port in fluid communication with the internal compartment and an air access port in fluid communication with the internal compartment. A water pump is connected to the water access port and water is pumped into the internal compartment of the shoal module to flood or sink the shoal module. The shoal module may be refloated by coupling an air pump to the air access port and pumping air into the internal compartment of the shoal module to force the water out of the water access port. Further, the water may be pumped out of the internal compartment while air is vented into the internal compartment.

  • Publication number: 20070220618
Abstract: Network communication cables that provide power, such as Ethernet cables in compliance with the Power over Ethernet standard, are secured so that unauthorized devices are restricted from receiving power. After a PoE connection is established between a powered device (PD) and power source equipment (PSE) over an Ethernet cable, the PD communicates security information to the PSE with low frequency variations in the current drawn by the PD through the Ethernet cable. The PSE terminates power to the PD if the PD fails to communicate the security information in a predetermined time period or if the security information fails to match authorized security information. Alternatively, the PSE generates an unauthorized device message for presentation at the network if the security information fails to match the authorized security information.

  • Publication number: 20070165539
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for configuring a network device. The system and method involves a network device that includes an external button for toggling the device between a managed mode and an unmanaged mode. When the device is toggled to a managed mode, an Internet Protocol (IP) address is temporarily assigned to the device and the device may be remotely configured. After configuration, the device can be returned to an unmanaged state, and the IP address assigned to the device is cleared. During the period that the device is in a managed state, an external indicator on the device is turned on to confirm that the device is in a managed state.
