  • Patent number: 9085221
Abstract: A vehicle door provides for the decoupling of the load path by a cut-out area formed in the door inner sheet-metal. In an impact event the front or lower portion of the door inner sheet-metal is pushed inboard while the cut-out area prevents the dragging of the rear or upper portion of the door inner sheet-metal. The cut-out area of the inner door sheet-metal is preferably elongated or can be another shape. It may be a close- or open-ended slot. A stiffening bead may be formed in the inner door sheet-metal adjacent the cut-out area. To provide a seal against water or debris, an adhesive material such as water-proof tape is positioned over the cut-out area. A door beam may be provided. A door spacer block may be positioned between the door beam and the door inner sheet-metal. Door trim padding may be provided over the inner door sheet-metal.

  • Publication number: 20060145471
Abstract: An extended text label is provided for a tube container, wherein the tube container includes a product dispensing end and a filling end opposite the product dispensing end. A crimp method seal is provided at the filling end that is crimped subsequent to filling the tube container with a selected product. An extended text label is then securely joined to the filling end of the tube container after the tube container is crimped shut, in a two-step operation.

  • Publication number: 20060138767
Abstract: A single-ply article for a tube container includes a tube container having a product dispensing end and a filling end opposite the product dispensing end. The tube container has a crimp method seal at its filling end that is created after filling the tube container with a selected product. A single-ply article is securely joined to the filling end of the tube container (i) by way of the crimp method seal, (ii) after the tube container is crimped shut, in a two-step operation, or (iii) as a separate, prior step before said tube container is filled with a selected product and crimped shut.

  • Publication number: 20050181165
Abstract: A glue-applied resealable expanded content label includes a hinge portion, a release-reseal portion, a base ply having an under side and an upper side, and a top ply having an under side and an upper side. A first adhesive material is provided between the upper side of the base ply and the under side of the top ply at the hinge portion joining together the base ply and the top ply, thereby forming a hinge. A second adhesive material and a release coating are provided between the upper side of the base ply and the under side of the top ply at the release-reseal portion, wherein the release coating is substantially aligned with the second adhesive material when the label is sealed, thereby forming a release-reseal system. The second adhesive material is also provided about a perimeter of the label between the base ply and the top ply. A fugitive adhesive material may also be provided within the perimeter of the label. Such constructions alleviate warping, canoeing, blocking, and pillowing effects.

  • Publication number: 20050087895
Abstract: A method of creating lenticular material having a selected orientation includes providing a substantially melted resin to at least one lenticularly patterned surface device and at least one abutting surface device. The abutting surface device selectively abuts the lenticularly patterned surface device. At least one of the abutting surface device and the lenticularly patterned surface device is chilled. The substantially melted resin is directed between the lenticularly patterned surface device and the abutting surface device. The substantially melted resin is thereupon cooled to a substantially solid and optically clear state, and thereby creates at least one lenticule in a resulting web of lenticular material having a selected orientation other than parallel to a machine direction.
