  • Patent number: 11958033
Abstract: This invention relates to modified MOF materials, methods of preparing them and processes using them. A modified MOF of the invention is modified by impregnating a MOF with an inorganic metal salt. The starting MOF contains at least one linker or ligand which contains an aryl amino group as part of its structure. These modified MOFs are able to adsorb either basic or acidic toxic industrial compounds (TIC). The modified MOFs can be used to remove TICs from various gaseous streams such as air.

  • Publication number: 20240082540
Abstract: Disclosed herein are catheters having multiple coil layers, and associated systems and methods. In some embodiments, a catheter includes an inner liner, a plurality of wires over the inner liner, and an outer sheath over the wires. The wires are coiled about a longitudinal axis of the catheter in a first direction to form a first coil layer over the inner liner, and the wires are coiled about the longitudinal axis in a second direction, opposite the first direction, over the first coil layer to form a second coil layer over the first coil layer. The wires each include a continuous/self-terminating end portion wherein the wire switches from the first direction to the second direction and transitions from the inner coil layer to the outer coil layer.

  • Publication number: 20240074640
Abstract: A cannula system and method for accessing a blood mass in the brain. The system comprises a cannula with a camera mounted on the proximal end of the cannula with a view into the cannula lumen and the surgical field below the lumen. A prism, reflector or other suitable optical element is oriented between the camera and the lumen of the cannula to afford the camera a view into the cannula while minimizing obstruction of the lumen. The system may also include an obturator with a small diameter shaft and a large diameter tip which is optically transmissive, so that a surgeon inserting or manipulating the assembly can easily see that the obturator tip is near brain tissue (which is white) or blood (which is red).

  • Publication number: 20230241302
Abstract: Disclosed herein are aspiration catheters having grooved inner surfaces for removing clot material from the vasculature of a patient, and associated systems and methods. In some embodiments, an aspiration catheter can include a proximal terminus, a distal terminus, and an inner surface defining a lumen. The inner surface includes at least one groove formed therein and that extends from the distal terminus at least partially toward the proximal terminus. When clot material is aspirated through the aspiration catheter, the at least one groove can provide a leak path past the clot material to improve the ingestion of the clot material through the catheter and inhibit clogging.

  • Patent number: 11529168
Abstract: A cannula with a proximally mounted camera and proximally mounted light sources. The lighting sources have beam axes directed distally, toward a workspace at the distal end of the cannula. • Publication number: 20200268243
Abstract: A cannula and obturator system with an obturator having a narrow shaft and a larger distal tip, which is transmissive to visible light (transparent or translucent). The obturator tip has a pointed, acutely conical distal tip, and includes an optically opaque component, such as a rod, disposed along the central axis of the obturator tip, which serves to prevent image reversal.
