  • Patent number: 8079119
Abstract: A disposable casket is made from a one piece unitary blank of a foldable sheet material. The blank is folded to form the disposable casket having a bottom wall, opposite side walls and opposite end walls. Each side wall has a top panel that folds inwardly where the outer edges overlap and interlock with each other. Each end wall has a side flap that is superimposed on a respective side wall. A top end panel is connected to each end wall by a fold line which folds over the respective end of the top panels and interlocks with the top panels to retain the top panels and top end panels in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 7493667
Abstract: A folding bed or cot particularly for use as a portable medical bed includes a center base portion connected to a support frame. An adjustable frame has first and second sections that can pivot between a horizontal section and an inclined position. A webbing material or fabric is attached to the adjustable frame and the center base portion of the main support frame to support the patient. The webbing is attached to the side edges of the center base portion to form a planar center portion.

  • Patent number: 6227201
Abstract: A backboard is formed from a cut blank defining a base and a top panel. The base has a generally rectangular shape with side panels coupled to the center panel by a fold line. The top panel is secured to the center panel of the base to increase the strength of the backboard. The top panel includes a center panel having a plurality of foldable arms which can be folded inwardly over a patient positioned on the backboard to restrain the patient on the backboard. The top panel also includes a pair of flaps that are folded along fold lines to form a head support for engaging the sides of a patient's head and preventing twisting or lateral movement of the patient's head. A securing device is placed around the backboard and the patient to restrain the patient and to assist in lifting the backboard.

  • Patent number: 6094761
Abstract: A disposable backboard for carrying a patient is formed from a folded blank. The blank is stored flat and can be folded to form the backboard. The backboard has a planar center panel and a pair of tubular shaped strengthening support members extending along the bottom face of the center panel adjacent the longitudinal side edges. The strengthening support members have a substantially triangular-shaped cross-section and extend the length of the center panel. A support panel is connected to each of the strengthening members and are positioned along the bottom face of the center panel. The support panels are generally attached to the center panel to further strengthen the backboard.

  • Patent number: 5944016
Abstract: A head immobilizer for use in emergency situations is formed in a flat, compact shape which is easily formed into an operable configuration. The head immobilizer includes a base and a head stabilizing structure attached to the base. The stabilizing structure includes a pair of inner panels that are hinged to the base at one edge and can be conformed to the shape of the patient's head. An outer support panel is hinged to an opposite end of the inner panel. A slide tab is attached to the outer panel and is coupled for sliding movement with respect to the base. A locking mechanism is provided to lock the sliding tab in position during use. The position of the slide tab with respect to the base adjusts the spacing of the inner panels comfortably to conform to the patient's head.
