  • Patent number: 5310188
Abstract: A device for providing visual feedback to the golf player of his grip during his golf stroke in maintaining proper alignment of the golf club face and the golf ball while increasing the air resistance the player encounters during the golf stroke. The device comprises a finned member for securement to the shaft of a conventional golf club adjacent the head. Certain of the fins include surfaces having visually perceptible indicia thereon, e.g., colors. The device is arranged so that one of the fins is oriented in a direction whereupon certain indicia are not visible if the club head is in a desired orientation, but will be visible if the club head is in another orientation, e.g., open or closed. The fins provide wind resistance during the swing. A weight may be secured to one of the fins.

  • Patent number: 5082282
Abstract: A golf club training device to be used by a person wherein the device simulates a conventional golf club. The device comprises a shaft having a longitudinal axis and a first and second end, a head secured to the first end of the shaft, and a grip means secured to the second end of the shaft for gripping the device. The head comprises a first light generating means for projecting a first beam of light out of the head, the first light generating means being oriented with respect to the head so that the first beam of light is projected out of the head towards a surface. The device also includes a second light generating means for producing a second beam of light in a direction opposite the head. The invention also includes a linear guiding indicia to be placed on the surface on which the golfer is standing to provide visual feedback regarding the golfer's swing.

  • Patent number: 4971328
Abstract: A golf swing training device comprised of a grip, a foreshortened shaft and a hollow head. The head contains a battery activated by a switch also located within the head, to illuminate a lamp, also within the head. The lamp emits a beam of light downward to the ground and forward of the club head. The light beam permits the golfer to trace the arc of light corresponding to the golfer's swing to impart a mental image to the golfer of the precise club head path. The device also comprises a linear guide strip which is placed on the ground in front of the golfer to establish the desired club head path. The golfer preferably follows the path of the light beam during a swing and compares the light path to the guide strip.
