Patent number: 8364755Abstract: An application for a system for providing a customized digital yearbook includes a server, a personal computer connected to the server and a user device for presenting content on a display. Yearbook software creates yearbook user accounts for users of the system and, after the yearbook software creates each yearbook user account, the yearbook software communicates with social network software and the social network software creates a corresponding social network user account. The yearbook software receives yearbook data from the personal computer through the network and stores the yearbook data in the database and the yearbook software extracts approved yearbook data, that data being a subset of the yearbook data that is approved for distribution. The social networking software provides features such as maintaining buddy lists, posting text, messages, images and/or video, messaging between buddies, and displaying of the postings of yourself and others.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2012Date of Patent: January 29, 2013Assignee: Wolf Pack Products, LLCInventors: Anthony M Olson, Jennifer Kay Winquist, Joseph G Richard

Patent number: 6823330Abstract: A method is provided for locating and navigating to the site home of a network site in an information network such as the Internet, an Intranet, or the like from a site page within the network site. In an exemplary embodiment, the method includes the steps of receiving a request to navigate from a site page to the site home of the network site, determining a site home for the network site, and when a site home is found for the network site, navigating to the site home in response to the received request so information provided by the site home may be communicated to a user. The method may be implemented as a program of instructions storable on a medium readable by an information handling system for causing the information handling system to perform the steps of the method.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 1999Date of Patent: November 23, 2004Assignee: Gateway, Inc.Inventors: Michael J. Calvillo, Joseph G. Richard, Glen J. Anderson, Russell F. McKnight

Patent number: 6670974Abstract: A system and method for generating a persistent usage context is disclosed. In an exemplary embodiment, a method of generating a persistent usage context includes monitoring usage of an information handling system and generating a first representation corresponding to a first item of usage and a second representation corresponding to at least one of the first item of usage and a second item of usage. The first representation and second representation are communicated so as to communicate an association of the first representation to the second representation and to enable a determination of at least one of the prior usage and current usage of an information handling system.Type: GrantFiled: October 12, 1999Date of Patent: December 30, 2003Assignee: Gateway, Inc.Inventors: Russell F. Patent number: 4319865Abstract: There is disclosed in the present application a wind wheel having a set of movable vanes whose orientation with respect to the plane of the wheel is changed automatically to limit the speed to a safe level in winds of high velocity. The wheel is constructed and shipped in segments and is especially adapted for ease of assembly and truing for minimal eccentricity and lateral run-out.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1979Date of Patent: March 16, 1982Inventor: Joseph G. Richard

Patent number: 4111601Abstract: There is disclosed in the present application a windmill including a wheel having a set of fixed blades and a set of movable vanes whose angular orientation with respect to the axis of the wheel is adjusted automatically for limiting the speed of the wheel to a safe level in winds of high velocity. The fixed blades may be installed to cause turning of the wheel under generally prevailing winds of a very low velocity. The movable vanes are connected to a speed sensing governor mechanism which changes their orientation from positive through neutral to negative for reducing the speed of the wheel when the wind velocity is excessive and the mill would otherwise reach damaging speeds. In addition, there is disclosed a mechanism for changing the orientation of the vanes from a remote location to stop the wheel. The mill wheel is also constructed in modular segments adapted to being shipped in sections and assembled at the operating site.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 1977Date of Patent: September 5, 1978Inventor: Joseph G.
