  • Publication number: 20140277551
Abstract: An implantable orthopaedic knee prosthesis assembly includes a femoral component, a stem component, a fastener, and a retention device. The femoral component is configured to be implanted into a distal end of a femur of a patient and includes a stem post having a proximal tapered bore, a distal passageway, and a threaded passageway connecting the proximal tapered bore and the distal passageway. The stem component is configured to taper fit to the femoral component and includes a bore formed therein extending proximally and a threaded aperture defined at a proximal end of the bore. The head of the fastener is configured to be received in the distal passageway, whereas the proximal end of the shaft of the fastener is configured to be positioned in the threaded aperture. • Publication number: 20140142713
Abstract: An implantable orthopaedic knee prosthesis includes a femoral component including an articular surface configured to engage a tibial bearing and a laterally-angled trochlear groove defined in the articular surface. The trochlear groove of the femoral component is configured to receive a patella component in a first location at a first degree of flexion and a second location at a second degree of flexion. The second degree of flexion is greater than the first degree of flexion. An arced imaginary line defines a central section of the trochlear groove. When the femoral component is viewed in a first coronal plane extending through the first location, the arced imaginary line has a first radius of curvature. When the femoral component is viewed in a second coronal plane extending through the second location, the arced imaginary line has a second radius of curvature that is less than the first radius of curvature.

  • Publication number: 20140081410
Abstract: A modular knee prosthesis system includes a femoral component having a stem and a plurality of different sizes of sleeves mountable on the stem. The system is modular, and provides the surgeon with the option of distally offsetting the joint line by selecting the size of sleeve that will provide the desired joint line. The different sizes of sleeves have different axial lengths but share a common geometry along a substantial part of their lengths so that the same bone cavity will accept multiple sizes of sleeves.
