  • Patent number: 4974864
Abstract: In a bicycle frame adapted for internal control cabling, the top and down tubes are fixed to parallel plates. The parallel plates are fixed to the head tube spacing the top and down tubes apart from the head tube allowing control cables to be routed internally through the steering tube of a front wheel fork, continuing between the parallel plates and through the top and down tubes. Handlebars and a bottom bracket housing are also provided assisting the internal routing of the cable.

  • Patent number: 4708106
Abstract: A V-shaped crankarm so arranged, constructed, and mounted that when the piston and piston pin are at top dead center and the greatest resistance to the downstroke is made by the crankarm, the V-crankarm will transfer the force of combustion via a crankpin arm portion, which is fixed at an angle to a crankshaft arm portion lying in a plane substantially perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder, in order to affect rotary motion.

  • Patent number: 4637271
Abstract: A flexible universal gear box for motor vehicles that mounts a pair of yokes movable relative to one another about a pivot member. The yokes are secured to different portions of the motor vehicle. The pivot member can be the main drive shaft of the motor vehicle or the joined wheel axles of the front or rear wheels of the vehicle, as examples. A first shaft member or first and second shaft members pass through the respective bodies of the yokes and join respective bevel gears that in turn are meshed with a pivot bevel gear connected to the pivot member. The movement of one portion of the body of the vehicle relative to the other portion of the body of the vehicle moves one yoke relative to the other yoke and simultaneously causes the rotation of the affected bevel gear around the pivot bevel gear to which it is meshed by way of the simultaneous movement of the affected shaft members.

  • Patent number: 4622932
Abstract: A V-shaped crankarm so arranged, constructed, and mounted that when the piston and piston pin are at top dead center and the greatest resistance to the downstroke is made by the crankarm, the V-crankarm will affect the resistance to the downstroke and transfer the power of the downstroke to rotation of the crankarm and the crankarm.

  • Patent number: 4603663
Abstract: A rocker arm system for internal combustion engines that directly position the top of the rocker arm in perpendicular operative contact with the valve stem of the cylinder head. The valve stem is angled toward the side wall of the cylinder block. The rocker arm is positioned along the side wall of the cylinder block and the cylinder head with the valve stem can be removed from the cylinder block without removing the rocker arm. The bottom end of the rocker arm is in operative contact with the cam of the camshaft. The bottom ends of rocker arms can be arced so as to straddle the camshaft. Gearing between the crankshaft and the camshaft to adjust the camshaft to upper and lower positions along a bottom arc of the camshaft so as to control the valve openings can be included.

  • Patent number: 4556023
Abstract: A pair of rotary valves for an internal combustion engine positioned in a cylinder head over a cylinder block. The rotary valves include a pair of rotatable shafts, and a pair of sleeve supports having ports opening to the cylinder or cylinders of the engine. The pair of rotatable shafts can be either hollow or solid. The hollow intake shaft brings in a fuel mixture to an inlet passage that rotates into alignment with an intake opening in the intake shaft to the piston cylinder. The hollow exhaust shaft allows exhaust of burned gases from the piston chamber through an exhaust opening from the piston cylinder to an exhaust passage in the exhaust shaft and to the atmosphere. The solid rotatable shafts are provided with a diametrical intake channel and a diametrical exhaust channel that aligns with the openings to the piston cylinder and to the fuel mixture and to the atmosphere. Drive and timing gearing between the crankshaft and the intake and exhaust shafts are provided.

  • Patent number: 4548096
Abstract: A fluid drive transmission system removably mounted to the axle of a motor vehicle. A power output drum connected to the wheel forms in part a fluid chamber. A power input rotor keyed to the axle extends through the center portion of the drum. Rotor blades and drum blades are positioned in the fluid chamber opposite one another. Bearings and fluid seals are positioned between the drum and the rotor so that the rotor and drum rotate freely relative to one another and the system can be removed as a unit from the axle without breaking the fluid seals.
