Patent number: 12206343Abstract: Kinetic-powered battery systems for musical instrument that can build a charge based on some or all of the physical motion exerted upon the musical instrument. This physical motion can arise from any conceivable activity, including (but not limited to) handling, travel activity, playing the musical instrument and/or intentionally shaking the musical instrument to build a charge prior to use. The kinetic rechargeable power system for musical instruments has application in any conceivable musical instrument, including (but not limited to) acoustic and electric instruments, wireless transmitters or microphones or any related sound reinforcement equipment currently using batteries and subject to movement in travel, setup, use, or intentional movement to create sufficient charge.Type: GrantFiled: February 22, 2022Date of Patent: January 21, 2025Inventor: Joseph Glaser, II

Publication number: 20240274104Abstract: A pitch changer system for a string musical instrument, including a lever assembly, a rotating saddle assembly, a swing plate, and a lever tensioning assembly. Applying force to move the lever in a first direction forces a bell crank matingly coupled to the lever into rotation such that a coupling system of the lever tensioning assembly causes the swing plate to force a rotating saddle of the rotating saddle assembly into rotation to elongate and thereby temporarily change the pitch of a string coupled to the rotating saddle.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 23, 2024Publication date: August 15, 2024Applicant: Glaser Instruments, LLCInventor: Joseph Glaser, II

Patent number: 4777858Abstract: An adjustable string contact system is disclosed for a musical instrument and, in a preferred embodiment, includes an elongate neck member which provides a means for supporting musical strings and an elongate member having frets located thereon for providing means to shorten the vibrating length of the strings to produce variations in musical pitch. In this preferred embodiment, these members comprise a neck body with a fingerboard mounted on its upper surface. The fingerboard has a plurality of transverse slots for receiving a fret into each of the slots so that the frets are generally perpendicular to, and below the strings. The frets are connected to a pair of longitudinally extending, spaced-apart rails located generally in the neck body. The frets are movable in the slots and provision is made for moving the rails toward and away from the strings at selected positions permitting adjustment of the distance of the frets from the strings.Type: GrantFiled: April 14, 1986Date of Patent: October 18, 1988Inventors: David J. Patent number: 4354417Abstract: The specification discloses a tone changer for a guitar (12) having a multiple pull actuator mechanism (14). One or more of the guitar strings are tightened in response to pulling a lever arm (22) away from the guitar (12), or by pushing the lever arm (30) towards the guitar (12), or by pulling the lever arm (26) upwardly in a rotational plane parallel to the rear side of the guitar (12). Straps (16) and (18) are connected between the lever arms (22) and (26), respectively, and are connected at their other end to the performer for selectively imparting an appropriate force on the lever arms. An extension arm (32) is connected to the lever arm (30) for engaging the performer to push the lever arm inwardly towards the guitar (12).Type: GrantFiled: September 16, 1981Date of Patent: October 19, 1982Inventor: Joseph Glaser, II
