  • Patent number: 5124650
Abstract: Obtaining data from a plurality of slabs in a volume of interest by using pairs of 90.degree. pulses with individual gradient pulses for presaturating volumes not of interest in the subject and subsequently selecting slabs in the volume of interest with RF pulses and slice-selecting gradient pulses.

    Assignee: Elscint Ltd.
    Inventor: Joseph Granot
  • Patent number: 5117187
Abstract: A multi-slice magnetic resonance (MR) acquisition sequence for acquiring data from a section of interest wherein the sections surrounding the section of interest are presaturated, then multiple slices from the section of interest are selected and data is acquired from the selected multiple slices.

Abstract: A method of using a stimulated echo sequence for acquiring imaging data of spatially localized volumes with a magnetic resonance system.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 4878021
Abstract: Methods and Apparatus using frequency modulated RF pulses for spatially localizing spectroscopic data. Three different pairs of 90 degree RF pulses are applied during the application of three different gradient pulses to excite and dephase unwanted volumes. A selected volume of interest (VOI) now contains unexcited and non-dephased spins. A 90 degree RF pulse is applied to excite the spins in the selected VOI and signals are acquired from the selected VOI.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 11, 1988
Date of Patent: October 31, 1989
    Assignee: Elscint Ltd.

  • Patent number: 4855679
Abstract: Apparatus for spatial localization in magnetic resonance (MR) systems applicable to both imaging and spectroscopy. Spatial localization provides data from a volume of interest (VOI) by means of selective inversion followed by the application of a modified spin-echo sequence having a second slice selection gradient used with the 180.degree. pulse being orthogonal to a first slice selection gradient used with the 90.degree. pulse. The selective inversion 180.degree. pulse is applied in the presence of a third selection gradient which is orthogonal to the other two selection gradient pulses. This basic sequence is applied twice with the preinversion pulse absent in the second application. The resulting signals are substracted from one another to obtain a net localized signal from the VOI.

Date of Patent: August 8, 1989

  • Patent number: 4832037
Abstract: A method of acquiring in-vivo magnetic resonance spectroscopic data for multiple regions in substantially the time required to obtain such data from a single region. The method includes applying a basic sequence to obtain data from a selected one of said multiple regions, waiting a definite time period before reapplying the basic sequence and reapplying modified basic sequences during said definite time period but with parameters for selecting and acquiring data from other selected regions during said definite time period.
