  • Patent number: 4482122
Abstract: A ball and socket-type antenna mount includes a base, and an upright support plate extending from the socket. An antenna support is receivable in the socket and has a planar surface portion engageable with the plate to be pivotable in an upright plane. A plurality of V-shape teeth are arranged on the planar surface of the antenna support, and disposed annularly about the pivot axis. The teeth define radially extending recesses. A radially extending, V-shaped projection is formed on the plate and arranged to be received in the recesses between the teeth on the antenna support, to lock the antenna support at a selected angular position relative to the base.

  • Patent number: 4462033
Abstract: A transmitting and receiving antenna, e.g. a mobile C.B. antenna, has a whip radiator connected to a loading coil, both of which are supported above a ground plane by a mounting structure. The loading coil is made from a simple helical spring partially compressed and retained between conductive end pieces located at the ends of a cylindrical dielectric tube. A savings in labor is achieved because no solder or like connections are needed in constructing the loading coil.

  • Patent number: 4184162
Abstract: An antenna mounting structure, for mounting an antenna on a mounting surface with a limited amount of under space, has a coaxial cable attached substantially at a right angle to the axial direction of the mounting structure. The mounting structure includes an antenna base assembly having a lower portion disposed beneath the mounting surface. An antenna disposed in the base also projects below the mounting surface into a cavity in the base, and an aperture is provided in the side of the lower portion of the base. The mounting structure also includes a cable mounting assembly having a cable adapter in the form of a plate with an aperture, on which plate the outer lead of the coaxial cable is fixed so that the cable is substantially parallel to the plate at the connection, the inner lead of the cable extending into the aperture. The cable and adapter are dimensioned such that, when assembled with the base, the inner lead projects into the antenna base cavity and can make contact with the antenna.

  • Patent number: 4136986
Abstract: An automobile antenna mounting structure comprises a base supporting and electrically insulating an antenna mast, the base extending through a bore of laterally elongated cross-section in a lower mounting plate, a circular mounting aperture in a mounting surface, and a bore of laterally elongated cross-section in an upper mounting means, respectively. A pair of downwardly concave shouldered portions on the base support a pair of downwardly depending legs on the lower mounting plate, so formed to permit limited relative pivotal movement between the base and plate in a vertical plane. The base and lower mounting plate are further formed to be both insertable through the mounting aperture in the support surface from the exterior thereof. The lower mounting plate and upper mounting means are adapted to be clamped to the support surface by a nut threaded on the upper portion of the base.
