Patent number: 11790067Abstract: Methods and systems described in this disclosure electronically notarize a document. The system can receive biometric information from a user, extract characteristics from the biometric information, and compare the characteristics of the biometric information with previously stored characteristics of the user's biometric information. When the characteristics of the biometric information match the previously stored characteristics to a threshold, the system can create an identity of the user using the characteristics of the biometric information. The system can send a document to the user for cryptographic signature and receive an indication that the document has been signed. The cryptographic signature can be generated with a digest of the document, the identity, and a cryptographic key associated with the user. The system can inspect the digest of the document, the cryptographic key, and the identity associated with the document to verify authenticity of the document and the identity of the user.Type: GrantFiled: November 10, 2021Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: David Lindley, Alexander Benetto Nagelberg, Maland Keith Mortensen, Joseph Gregory Delong, Shantanu K. Tripathy, Zachary T. Golden, Kevin D. Love, Brian Keith Anderson, Kasey T. Moore

Patent number: 11741458Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure include determining that a private transaction is to be recorded in a distributed ledger system (DLS) based on a consensus protocol executed by a set of entities participating in the DLS, the private transaction including a transaction between a subset of entities of the set of entities, providing a set of noisy transactions based on a transaction model, and transmitting data representative of at least a portion of the private transaction, and data representative of each noisy transaction in the set of noisy transactions for recording in the DLS based on the consensus protocol.Type: GrantFiled: October 7, 2021Date of Patent: August 29, 2023Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Jonathan Huntington Rhea, Bharat Prasad, Minya Liang, Joseph Gregory Delong, Steven J. Schroeder

Patent number: 11216813Abstract: Systems and methods for performing netting of business-to-business payments for settlement of running balances between parties are provided. To that end, blockchain infrastructures allow smart contracts that may be suitable for subrogation and netting operations, and the smart contracts that facilitate the operations. Application-programming interfaces (APIs) are provided that may be used to interact with the smart contracts.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2019Date of Patent: January 4, 2022Assignee: United States Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Joseph Gregory Delong, Steven James Schroeder, Jonathan Huntington Rhea, Alexander Benetto Nagelberg

Patent number: 11216573Abstract: Implementations of the present disclosure include receiving a record corresponding to a private transaction recorded in two or more private state databases of entities participating in the private transaction within a distributed ledger system (DLS), generating a data representation based on the record, transmitting the data representation for public consensus processing within the DLS, and recording within a public ledger of the DLS, and providing a public record for recording in the DLS, the public record being recorded in a public state database of each of entity participating in the DLS.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2019Date of Patent: January 4, 2022Assignee: United Services Automobile Association (USAA)Inventors: Jonathan Huntington Rhea, Bharat Prasad, Minya Liang, Joseph Gregory Delong, Steven J.
