  • Patent number: 10213222
Abstract: A method and apparatus for transecting soft tissue, such as a ligament, and more particularly, the transverse carpal ligament. A pair of hollow introducer needles can be used to rout a thread-like, smooth and non-abrasive cutting element around tissue, such as a soft tissue, to enable a transection of the soft tissue using minimally invasive techniques. The cutting element is routed into position about the target soft tissue such that the cutting element both enters and exits the body from the same side of the soft tissue. The smooth and non-abrasive exterior surface of the cutting element serves to provide a kerf-less cut.

  • Patent number: 9225836
Abstract: Methods and systems for voice and video messaging are provided here. In some embodiments a method for voice and video messaging may include establishing a telecommunication session with a calling device associated with a first user in response to an indication that a call request from the calling device directed to a called identifier associated with a second user failed, providing to the calling device an option to leave a video message and an option to leave an audio message, receiving a selection from the calling device indicating the selection of the option to leave a video message, disconnecting the established telecommunication session, and receiving a video message from the calling device.

  • Publication number: 20140171790
Abstract: A flexible thread-like cutting element achieves a smooth and sharp cutting action by utilizing a power tool or manual tool capable of developing a reciprocating motion that alternatively reciprocates the ends of the cutting element. The tool may include a mechanism for converting rotational motion into reciprocating motion. The reciprocating motion is transferred to the cutting element to develop the cutting action of the device. In another aspect, the power tool or manual can be encased in a disposable, sterile protective bag to simplify sterilization.

  • Patent number: 6489627
Abstract: Within each of: (1) a method for inspecting a reticle; (2) an apparatus for inspecting the reticle; and (3) a method for forming a microelectronic layer while employing the method for inspecting the reticle and the apparatus for inspecting the reticle, there is employed a pair of wedges whose inclined surfaces are counter-opposed and separated by a gap. The pair of wedges whose inclined surfaces are counter-opposed and separated by the gap is employed in conjunction with an inspection light source and detector for determining an optimizing an optical characteristic of the reticle, such as an optimized optical interference characteristic of the reticle, such that the reticle may be optimally aligned within a photoexposure apparatus and there may be formed with optimal registration while employing the reticle and the photoexposure apparatus a microelectronic layer within a microelectronic fabrication.
