  • Patent number: 5996469
Abstract: A rodless power cylinder assembly comprising a cylinder having a pair of side walls, at least two bearing grooves being formed in each of the side walls, each bearing groove extending substantially parallel to a bore. Each bearing groove is operative to receive at least a portion of a bearing which engages a trolley assembly. A slot extends outwardly from the bore through the upper surface of the cylinder. Means are provided for sealing the slot during the reciprocal movement of the piston, the means including at least one external groove formed in the upper surface of the cylinder and at least one internal groove formed in the bore of the cylinder, the internal groove being disposed substantially below and in vertical alignment with the external groove.

  • Patent number: 5984276
Abstract: A cable retraction speed limiter has a body which is designed to be mounted on the housing of a hoist and a spool which is rotatably supported by the body. A flexible extension member is disposed about the spool so that it can be extended from and retracted onto the spool by rotation of the spool. The end of the flexible extension member is designed to be attached to an air pressure responsive member inside of the air balancing hoist. The cable retraction speed limiter also includes a spool lock that stops rotation of the spool when the rotational speed of the spool exceeds the rotational speed limit, thereby limiting the hoist cable retraction speed.

  • Patent number: 5483868
Abstract: A rodless piston assembly has a carriage or trolley which is reciprocated on support structure through a band or cable connection between both ends of the rodless piston and the carriage Braking of the assembly is obtained by the use of braking cylinders carried in the carriage acting against a braking surface on the support structure.

  • Patent number: 5303638
Abstract: A rodless piston and cylinder assembly having an improved cable connection between the ends of the piston and the working unit in the form of a band of plastic and coated stainless steel strip. The exterior surface of the band is curvilinear and cooperates with the curvilinear slot shape of piston and cylinder plastic sealing grommets. Braking of the working unit is accomplished by pistons in the carriage acting against the carriage slide.

  • Patent number: 4694733
Abstract: A rodless cylinder having an elongated cylinder and a fluid actuated piston longitudinally reciprocally mounted in the cylinder and an actuator mechanically connected to the piston. A first cable or a slot seal extends from one end of the actuator and to one end of the cylinder while a second cable or seal extends from the other end of the actuator and to the other end of the cylinder. An elongated flexible strip has one end attached to the actuator and its other end mounted to a take up reel so that the strip overlies and protects the cable or seal against sparks, caustic chemicals, and the like.
