  • Publication number: 20130331198
Abstract: A training device used by a golfer to visually analyze their body position during their golf swing. The device generally includes a base with a first indicator, and a front plate with a second indicator. In use, the device is positioned in front of the golfer with the first and second indicators being visually aligned. The golfer visually watches the relative positions of the indicators during the course of the swing. By observing the degree of sway in real time, the golfer can limit sway in the back swing and control it on the downswing enabling the golfer to stay behind the ball thus making proper impact possible. Some sway during the golf swing is inevitable. The device enables the golfer to have awareness of the degree and direction of sway and the dynamic timing of sway position at impact.

  • Patent number: 5308075
Abstract: A golf practice aid is configurable by the user to simulate the contour of sloping or irregular terrain. The golf practice aid includes a flexible bag filled with a granular media such as plastic pellets. A flexible mat is adhered to an outer surface of the flexible bag-like enclosure. The flexible mat has a tufted surface which simulates natural turf and defines a practice area for practicing one's golf swing. In use, the bag is shaped to the desired configuration by manually pressing on the outer surface of the bag to shift the granular media. Once the desired configuration is obtained, the air is extracted from the bag. The bag collapses as the air is extracted to retain the pellets in the desired shape and to form a relatively rigid surface to support underlying the pressure mat upon which the user can stand.

  • Patent number: 5116058
Abstract: A golf training device is disclosed to provide real-time visual feedback regarding the user's golf swing. The golf training device comprises a mirror which is pivotally mounted on a base. The mirror is adjusted by the user so that the user can observe his body during the course of his or her golf swing. The mirror includes a fixed, visual reference to assist the user in recognizing flaws in his or her body movement so that the user can immediately correct his or her golf swing. The fixed reference may, for example, take the form of a centering spot on the mirror which the user may use as a visual reference in centering and aligning his or her body during the course of a golf swing. The centering spot may include an opening through the mirror, which opening helps a golfer square the base by sighting on a reference line on the base and visible through the opening.
