  • Patent number: 11900381
Abstract: Through a missing entity process any point of sale (POS) terminal can be used to help a missing entity contact find a missing entity. A missing entity system can receive a request that includes at least missing entity account information and merchant information as transmitted from the POS terminal. The request may be a missing entity service request (an API call) requesting a missing entity alert or a conventional transaction request, such as an authorization request or a preauthorization request. Upon receipt of the request, the missing entity system can obtain contact information for a missing entity contact associated with the missing entity account information and communicate, via a messaging application, the missing entity alert to the missing entity contact using the obtained contact information. The missing entity alert notifies the missing entity contact of the location of the missing entity as indicated by the merchant information.

  • Patent number: 11883156
Abstract: A patient handling device includes a frame for supporting a patient, a controller, and two alert lights which are activated when a controller detects an alert situation, such as, but not limited to, a patient exiting from the patient handling device. The controller is in communication with the alert lights and operable to monitor an integrated bed exit system. The alert lights are positioned adjacent the foot end corners of the frame and are viewable by a user positioned anywhere within a 270 degree section of a circle defined at the center of the patient handling device. The alert lights include one or more Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs).

  • Publication number: 20240024177
Abstract: A person support apparatus includes a first transceiver adapted to wirelessly communicate with a second transceiver of a headwall interface that is positioned off of the person support apparatus. A communication link is automatically established between the first and second transceivers without requiring a user of the person support apparatus to activate a designated control and without requiring the user to identify the headwall interface. The first transceiver includes a unique identifier assigned to the headwall interface in its messages to the headwall interface. The first transceiver may also automatically transmit a disconnect signal to the headwall interface indicating the termination of the communication link is not accidental. The disconnect signal is sent based on one or more of the following: (1) a brake being off, (2) an A/C power cord being unplugged; and/or (3) a signal strength between the transceivers decreasing.

  • Patent number: 11805038
Abstract: A monitoring system includes one or more units that are adapted monitor the radio frequency conditions of a facility or portion of the facility. The units include a packet sniffer and/or an RF spectrum analyzer. Sniffed packets and spectrum data are recorded and made available for analysis and display, either locally on the units or at one or more remote locations. The locations of the units are also gathered, thereby enabling correlation of the sniffed packets and/or RF spectrum data with locations within the facility. Real time RF conditions can thereby be gathered and used to improve the wireless communications within the facility and/or to ensure the wireless communication infrastructure of the facility is operating satisfactorily. The units may be person support apparatuses, such as beds, chairs, stretchers, cots, or the like.

  • Publication number: 20230277090
Abstract: A location detection system identifies the locations of medical devices such as patient support apparatuses and/or patient care devices within a medical facility. The devices communicate via a wired connection to one or more medical facility systems (e.g. nurse call system, computer network, etc.), and/or via a wireless connection to such systems. The location detection system automatically determines location information of the devices and communicates the location information so that the recipient of any outgoing alerts and/or other information sent from the devices is apprised of the location of the particular device sending the alert or other information. Caregivers are thereby able to respond to the correct location of an alert, and software systems such as EMR systems, admission discharge and transfer (ADT) systems, etc. are able to correlate transmitted device data with the location and/or patient assigned to that location.

  • Patent number: 11720882
Abstract: System and methods perform identity freezing. A user input requesting halting of operations related to a plurality of accounts or profiles of the user at different local systems is received. In response, a token mapping database is accessed to identify a personally identifiable information (PII) token for the user. A freeze message with the PII token is transmitted to the different local systems to halt operations associated with the plurality of accounts or profiles of the user. Thereafter, at the different local systems, the operations associated with the plurality of accounts or profiles of the user are halted to freeze an identity of the user. More efficient communication and operations to freeze the user accounts and profiles thereby result.

  • Publication number: 20230230067
Abstract: A device and method for managing personal data. A request for an identifier (ID) token corresponding to a user is received from a virtual wallet. The ID token is generated and transmitted to the virtual wallet, where the ID token is then presented to a third-party entity by a device of the user. A request for the personal data corresponding to the ID token is received from the third-party entity. A trustworthiness score is determined that corresponds to the third-party entity based at least in part on an analysis of entity data corresponding to the third-party entity. The trustworthiness score and received request are transmitted to the virtual wallet and passed on to the user device. An indication of acceptance of the request and encrypted personal data associated with the generated ID token are received from the virtual wallet and transmitted to the third-party entity for processing.

  • Patent number: 11684526
Abstract: Patient support apparatuses, such as beds, cots, stretchers, recliners, or the like, include control systems with one or more image, radar, and/or laser sensors to detect objects and determine if a likelihood of collision exists. If so, the control system controls the speed and steering of the patient support apparatus in order to reduce the likelihood of collision. The control system may be adapted to autonomously drive the patient support apparatus, to transmit a message to a remote device indicating whether it is occupied by a patient or not, and/or to transmit its route to the remote device. The remote device may determine an estimate of a time of arrival of the patient support apparatus at a particular destination and/or determine a distance of the patient support apparatus from the particular destination.

  • Patent number: 11680845
Abstract: A person support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, recliner, cot, or the like, includes a frame, a plurality of load cells, a support surface supported by the load cells, a detection circuit, and a controller. The controller determines if any of the load cells are in an error state based upon information from the detection circuit. If the load cells include memory having calibration data stored therein, the controller communicates with the memory and uses the calibration data to determine an amount of weight supported on the surface. The detection circuit may include one or more Wheatstone bridges wherein the controller monitors voltages between midpoints of the Wheatstone bridges. The load cells may include an activation lead that is monitored by the detection circuit and a sensor lead that is used by the controller to determine an amount of weight supported on the patient support apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20230106412
Abstract: A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, cot, stretcher, recliner, or the like, includes a patient support surface, a display, a plurality of indicators and/or controls, an ambient light sensors, and a controller. The display is adapted to be illuminated at multiple illumination levels, and the controller is adapted to receive ambient light level readings from the ambient light sensor, to use the ambient light level readings to automatically select a particular brightness level for the display, and to cause the display to display information at the particular brightness level. In some embodiments, multiple ambient light sensors are included and the readings of those within a valid range are averaged together to determine the particular brightness level. Machine learning algorithms may also be included for selecting the brightness level based on a user's prior history of manually selecting a brightness level.
