  • Publication number: 20230326574
Abstract: A method and system for recommending additional ingredients for making a nutritional preparation with improved folate retention. When an oxygen-reduced food processing step is used, an acidic pH value for the ingredients used improves folate retention. It is proposed to recommend additional or supplementary ingredients to reduce a pH value if a pH value of desired ingredient(s) is above or at a predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 10762981
Abstract: Provided are methods and systems for determining the clinical significance of a genetic variant. The methods entail determining, for the variant, (a) a function score based on known impact of the variant on a biological function of a cell or protein, (b) a frequency score based on the frequency of the variant in a population, (c) a co-occurrence score based on how the variant co-occurs with a reference variant having known clinical significance relating to a clinical disease or condition, and (d) a family segregation score based on how the variant segregates with a disease or condition in a family; and aggregating, on a computer, the function score, the frequency score, the co-occurrence score, the family segregation score to generate a clinical significance score indicating the clinical significance of the genetic variant.

  • Patent number: 10095844
Abstract: A method includes: receiving a blacklist identifying piracy threatening items that pose a piracy threat such that, if installed and active with playback of the digital media content on the client, the piracy threatening items facilitate unauthorized use of the digital media content, the piracy threatening items on the blacklist having associated priority values; identifying first and second subsets of piracy threatening items in the blacklist responsive to the associated priority values; determining whether one or more piracy threatening items associated with the first subset are present on the client; performing a DRM transaction provisioning the digital media content for playback responsive to determining that no piracy threatening items associated with the first subset are present on the client; and determining whether to play back the digital media content responsive to determining whether one or more piracy threatening items associated with the second subset are present on the client.

  • Patent number: 9848907
Abstract: A rotational atherectomy system may include a drive shaft, a motor, and a clutch with a threshold torque where the clutch may include a motor plate rotationally connected to the motor, a drive shaft plate rotationally connected to the drive shaft, and a biasing clutch configured to rotationally engage the motor plate and the drive shaft plate, wherein torques less than the threshold torque are transmitted completely between the motor plate and the drive shaft plate, which remain rotationally coupled by static friction, and wherein torques greater than the threshold torque cause the motor plate and the drive shaft plate to rotate relative to one another and cause a residual torque to be transmitted between the motor and the drive shaft, the residual torque being less than the threshold torque and being determined by a kinetic coefficient of friction.

  • Patent number: 9830431
Abstract: A method for protecting digital media content from unauthorized use on a client, is described. The method comprising the steps of receiving from a server on the client a list of processes, instructions, activity descriptions or data types that must not be active simultaneously with playback of the digital media content (“the blacklist”). The method further comprising checking, on the client, for the presence of any items on the list; and continuing interaction with the server, key management and playback of protected content only if no items on the list are detected on the client. A system is also described.

  • Patent number: 9095430
Abstract: Biomaterials with enhanced properties such as improved strength, flexibility, durability and reduced thickness are useful in the fabrication of biomedical devices, particularly those subjected to continuous or non-continuous loads where repeated flexibility and long-term durability are required. These enhanced properties can be attributed to elevated levels of elastin, altered collagen types, and other biochemical changes which contribute to these enhanced properties. Examples of devices which would be improved by use of such tissue include heart valves, including percutaneous heart valves, and vascular grafts, patches and the like. Such enhanced materials can be sourced from specific populations of animals, such as neonatal calves, or in range-fed adult cattle, or can be fabricated or created from cell populations exhibiting such properties.
