  • Patent number: 5207635
Abstract: An orthopedic device to provide lower back support for a wearer includes a flexible flat body, a resilient contoured lumbar support pad of varying thickness secured to the body, and a flexible belt traversing the pad and secured to the body at points beyond the pad, the belt being configured and dimensioned to be secured about the waist of the wearer for positioning the pad on the lumbar region of the wearer.

  • Patent number: 4796494
Abstract: A vehicular headlight position adjusting assembly (100) is provided. Assembly (100) includes a two-part housing (2, 4) within which meshingly engaged gears (22, 32) are rotationally supported in a manner providing an angular relationship between their respective rotational axis. Gears (22, 32) are rotated by an input drive member (16) extending from housing (2, 4). Gear (32) is threadingly engaged with an adjustment member (20) having an end operatively engaged with a movable frame (46) upon which the headlight is mounted and having an elongate flat (26) that slidingly engages a projection (24) of gear (22) operative to prevent adjustment member (20) from rotating such that rotation of drive member (16) in opposite directions causes adjustment member (20) to traverse without rotation in opposite directions to adjust the headlight position.

  • Patent number: 4714135
Abstract: A compact, rapidly-deployable rappel rescue system is housed in a lightweight carrier and connected to a belt or harness for portable use or mounted in a stationary position readily available for emergency use. The carrier contains a carabiner connected to one end of a tubularly woven Kevlar aramid fiber of similar lightweight, high strength synthetic polymer rappel line folded into a deployment bag, an edge guard protective sleeve pad slidable on the line and adjustable to the rappel point, a modified figure-of-eight multi-configuration descender and an end-stop ring connected to the other end of the rappel line.

  • Patent number: 4665469
Abstract: A headlight adjuster gear assembly (100) is provided having a pair of angularly oriented intermeshed gear members comprising a driven gear member (4) adapted to be rotated and cause rotation of a driving gear member (4) which is operable upon rotation to adjust a vehicular headlight. Gear members (2, 4) are enclosed by a pair of housing members (80, 90) that are hinged together at one end and fastened at an opposite end by pins (28) or other suitable means to prevent loss of either or both housing members (80, 90) upon their detachment as well as provide improved resistance to their separation from torque arising during the adjusting process.
