  • Patent number: 9275465
Abstract: A system for cleaning up and preparing an image for segmentation is disclosed. An image transmitting device is configured to transmit a first image to an image receiving device. The image receiving device is configured to: receive the first image; apply a Dual Tree Complex Wavelet transform to the first image to form a plurality of sub-images; generate a high pass image based on the plurality of sub-images; generate a rotational invariant resultant image based on the high pass image; generate a low pass image based on the plurality of sub-images; and combine the rotational invariant resultant image and the low pass image to form a pseudo-fluorescent image.

  • Patent number: 8622909
Abstract: This invention relates to diagnostic and screening medical ultrasound in general and to ultrasound-stimulated detection and location, Image-based Dynamic Ultrasound Spectrography, Acoustic Radiation Force Imaging, and similar modalities in particular. In this invention, an ultrasound signal is emitted into tissue and the resulting radiation force induces localized lower frequency oscillations, which are then received by various acoustic sensors and analyzed to determine certain features or characteristics of the interrogated region. The sensors can be arranged in the form of a ring, in any random arrangements, or positioned in specifically chosen locations. An ultrasonic imaging and excitation transducer generates certain stimulating signals which are received by the breast tissues and which, if they contact a microcalcification, other target, or any region with sharply different mechanical and visco-elastic properties, will result in reflected, demodulated, or re-radiated signals.

  • Publication number: 20130144638
Abstract: A service system for managing consumer data relating to services performed for healthcare consumers by hospitals or healthcare providers over a network. The system includes an insurer computer system that receives and analyzes claims information relating to the services performed. A survey mechanism receives assessment data from the consumers regarding the services received. A central database is in communication with the insurer computer system and the survey mechanism for receiving and storing data regarding the services. A central processor is in communication with the central database, with the central processor configured to analyze the data received from the central database for determining a satisfaction level for each of the consumers regarding the services received, including consumer perceptions of the medical outcome.

  • Patent number: 7895049
Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards managing an adaptive media object to dynamically represent a persona reflecting a group's (or individual's) online and/or offline activities and behaviors. The group selects the adaptive media object to represent their persona digitally. The group may indicate which activities, actions, and/or behaviors are to be used to adapt the persona, and may further specify at least one mapping of a selected activity, action, and/or behavior to a change in the configuration of the adaptive media object. In one embodiment, the various activities, actions, and/or behaviors may be input to a machine learning algorithm that dynamically determines the changes to the adaptive media object. The adaptive media object may serve as a single point of contact for the group or individual for communications. The adaptive media object configuration may also change based upon the client device used to access the adaptive media object.

  • Patent number: 7792040
Abstract: A system and method is described herein for managing bandwidth and cost in connection with a plurality of sensors in an ad hoc network. The system and method receives sensor data that is provided from a plurality of sensors and constructs an ad hoc network among the plurality of sensors based on the sensor data. The system and method also receives and analyzes bandwidth information from each sensor in a group of sensors in the ad hoc network. Based on the analysis, the system and method then modifies a manner in which at least one sensor in the group exchanges data, including sensor data and multimedia content.

  • Publication number: 20090012841
Abstract: A method, system, and apparatus are directed to communicating data over a network. Event attributes comprising at least two of a temporal, spatial, social, or topical information are received. An event structure comprising fields associated with a different one of a temporal, spatial, social, or topical dimension based on the received event attributes is generated. An advertising attributes about an advertisement is received. The advertising attributes may comprise at least two of another temporal, spatial, social, or topical information. If the event structure matches the advertising attributes, the advertisement may be provided co-located with the event structure. The advertisement may be configured to provide a value exchange if the advertisement is activated.
