    Abstract: A multiple station gamma ray absorption contraband detection system utilizes a proton source and disk-shaped target to provide a 360 degree resonant gamma ray cone which is suitable for use in four separate gamma ray absorption contraband detection stations simultaneously. The target has two beryllium walls coated with .sup.13 C and .sup.34 S so as to facilitate the detection of nitrogen and chlorine in a manner which reliably and effectively identifies contraband such as explosives and drugs via gamma ray absorption.
